Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

An old Vietnam helo driver who was trying to hit the logged 50,000 flight hours milestone before he retires completely from flying. He would be the type to be flying to his last day on earth. Always upbeat and happy and a hard charger. His 8 hour day would yield 12 hours of hard work. Slacker was not a word in his vocabulary. I figured both helos were the working steeds in yur stable. Had a retired supervisor who owned a Schweitzer for his initial flight training at Paso Robles. Sold it when he was done. A handful of years later, the bird was in a hover and the rotor mast let go.
