I was born in 1970. I think my parents bought a house right about that time. I saw what was left of the mortgage payment book a few years back. I think they paid $14k. That must have been a heck of a house in the note above. Their first wasn't a big house, but then it was also 10 years later.

Yup, prolly depends on where.
My parents bought this modest house in 1964 for $13,500.
Dad had to work two jobs to pay for it.

When we moved to So Cal in 1973 a similar sized house cost $33,000

Sure, Cali, that makes cents.

This is that house as it sits today per Google street view.

The only difference that I see is that the garage has been sealed and turned into a room, and the utility light that we had in the front yard is gone and the paint colors and trees are different. Maybe a new front door.

Nothing looks the same to me. Door, windows, driveway, sidewalk are all different and in different locations.

His picture that I quoted was of some random house. My picture was of the home that I mentioned that my parents had bought when I was a baby (but the picture is current and from Google street view. In the picture that I posted the house looks the same as it did when I lived there. I wasn't saying that the pic he posted was of my parents first house or that the two pics looked the same.

Ok, ok, .. that's a little over the line, even by my standards!! Top needs to kick back on the quads slightly. Bottom,... well, her shirt says it all!

More my style...
