BMW is selling its stake in SGL carbon fiber joint venture

FRANKFURT -- SGL Group said it would gradually buy BMW's stake in their joint venture that produces carbon fiber.

BMW said last year it was limiting its use of carbon fiber and turning to cheaper lightweight materials such as aluminum and steel for its biggest selling cars to keep profit margins high.

Toyota's Supra performance coupe looks likely to debut in concept form at next month's Geneva auto show after the automaker released a teaser picture for a "modern racing concept."............

BMW showed a concept last year previewing its version of the same car, the Concept Z4. The production model will be a convertible badged as the Z4 that replaces the car of the same name that went out of production in 2016. Toyota's version is expected to be a coupe only and to put more emphasis on performance.

There is no doubt at all that Toyota knows more about what sells than I do. But if I was in the market for a sporty coupe, Toyota is not on my radar. Mazda and the Germans might be. The Honda NSX is way too expensive.
