Looks like the op ran the cable into the Shiv and snaped the cable letting the front drop in.

My first career in construction was crane operating. I ran a crane part-time for Ellis-Don Construction in the early 80's very similar to this one. A R/T Grove, totally hydraulic. Amazing control, but very tippy. I had the rear pads off the ground a few times trying to pick up stuff boomed out and low.
