Why do people put Tabs on Ignore Lists?

Certain members of this Board and others have placed me on their Ignore list...as if this is some earth shaking news. I'm not going to belabor the point only to explain the reason why certain members feel so compelled to go to such extreme measures.

It really is very simple....they exhibit compulsive behavior with regards to what I write. On one hand they feel compelled to read what I write and after having read it loath themselves for being addicted to the drivel I spew out. So like a recovering addict their only recourse is to put up a firewall between themselves and their temptation to read what I write. Thus the Ignore List.

However what is equally true is that the Ignore List is useless....for by placing me on it they are acknowledging that I have an extreme effect upon them. Since what I do is designed to have an effect...I have accomplished my goal.

I am like the sirens sweetly singing to brave Ulysses, tempting men to their destruction.... For I am truly a man of wealth and taste. I'm Tabs!

You are exactly right about this. And what you write here is your business. What you write in the technical forums is everybody's business. Often, it has nothing to do with the topic. If you want to upset people in this regard, you are wrong. Keep it over here and if folks want to read your comments, they can elect to do so. Your comments on the Registry about the Underwood and the bug powder were so obscure, off topic and unneeded that you deserve to be ignored. I bring this up because you linked to here, which was another breach of off topic. You risk being banned, which I would wholeheartedly support.

Milt has a point. I'd keep on topic when it comes to technical stuff. In fact, Tabs, if you have an opinion about any technical matters, it would be refreshing to hear them. I'd hate to think such a free-thinking mind as yours is relegated to acerbic altruisms that nonetheless, in my opinion, have more veracity than conjecture.

As for "banning one from the board," I think that process is the cheapest autocratic way any public vessel of communication can conduct itself. It wreaks of those unable to stand the heat but refuse for self-serving reasons to leave the kitchen.

In fact, I'd be very careful about "banning" anyone. A man of wealth and taste may very well be that (who here REALLY knows Tabs, and from what background he comes?) and as I've seen in my few years of life, men of wealth and taste tend to hire lawyers of wealth (from litigation) and taste (taste FOR litigation), for all reasons conceivable and fanciful - banishment from a web board notwithstanding.

Actually Tabs, I think it is partially what you say and the other 50% is to piss you off (which worked - which is why this is probably the 20th "why they ignore me" post you've made).

Some seek attention through positive means and others through negative.

It's not who you are dealing with, but what you are dealing with.

The Devil never wanted Christ crucified. For when Christs blood touched the ground there was a howl from the pit of He!!. For the blood of Christ was like acid on the flesh of the Devil. The Devil knew he was defeated, that the soul of Man was saved by the humility of Christs sacrafice.

Isn't that enough for you Milt?

I have to say, tabby, I greatly prefer your political commentary to your attention-seeking whining.

Hey Tabby: no fair! You're quoting directly from Mel Gibson's new movie!

Whining....my orginal Thread has to deal with the motivation and behavior of certain indivduals. It's observation and holds no paticular bias one way or the other...it's the truth of the matter thats all. The last part is merely advertisment...you gota pay for your entertainment.

I don't think you'd want to be part of that production. Man! Has he gotten a lot of flak for this one. But that's a whole 'nother story in and of itself.

But I digress. Please, you and Bell proceed with the engaging email oratory...

Dude , you got to come up with a more clever means to create controversy. The whole ignore list thing is tired. You got to come up with something new if you want to rent space in peoples heads.

Mr Olsen on another Board suggested that I be put on an ignore list to a newbie, that many of the people there have done so. This was my response to Mr Olsen.

I further thought that making an observation about the psychological motivation behind the behavior of those people would be clarifieing and give new understanding .

You boyz are a tough audience...

And Bell...Naw I never do that.......
