that is sad i don't know why my post didn't work heres my post
well i posted a few days ago about a knoking sound from my engine...well it wasn't chain tensioners it was compression knock but not just any compression knock....it is the kind that comes from the wrong stubs being used and the heads pulling off the cyls... i have no compression in cyl.'s 1, 3, 5 ,and 6. and my heads are warped....this was an engine building flaw....well my uncle built the engine and he is saying it is not his fault....his name is Mark Minkoff he works at haus of performance in costa mesa california....he does not know what he is doing....i have my suburban to drive while i either sell the car or save up enough money to fix the problem....most likely i will sell the car and quite frankly i am done with porsche for now.... ![]() |

Sounds to me like the case wasn't time certed. Is that what happened.
By the way, I know you are pissed off with your uncle, but it might pay to take his name out of there until you have calmed down a little.

what does the 2nd post have to do with the first?
As for the accident, I didn't read all the posts, but did anyone mention two words: FIRE EXTINGUISHER? They're not just for 911s... |

It will look even better after you have put the epoxy down, but be sure to remove all traces of oil contamination from the concrete first.

How does your Uncle justify his incompetence? I guess you can't start anything legal against him. The honorable thing for him to do would be to make it right, did you have any indication that he was anything other than honorable before he did the rebuild? I'm not in your shoes, but I wouldn't eat it without a fight. Sorry to hear yor being victomized by your Uncle.

Very Sad.
Amazing the total number of views on that post exceeds 50,000! That is mind boggling.

It's a very sad story indeed. I can't imagine what the families are going through.
Something worth mentioning..did you all notice the tone of the posters on the bimmer BBS? Seems most of them are hardly in their 20's. How do those guys afford M3's and then hot rod them!? Must be parents' money... ..if my kids ever get the bug to go street racing the steel toe boots are going to meet some arses. And the only cars I'm buying for my kids will be Volvo station wagons and restorable 911s' for the track and the occasional Prom or Homecoming nights. There is a definite difference between this BBS and other BBS'. The level of maturity here is nice. Please be safe out there gang. |

For some of it, I don't know if they are using the wrong word, or just don't know how to spell it!!! There is a lot of butchery of the english language going on around here. But, based on what they are writing, they are great mechanics. I'll barter with them ==> I'll teach them proper english, and they can teach me early 911's. larry

I believe there is no excuse for bad spelling on online forums, all you need to do is quick spell-check. I have one my Internet Explorer toolbar that checks everything that I type. It is called "ieSpell" and it's free.
Please be careful out there and keep it on the track.

Sad to hear about such an unfortunate event. This is about the 3rd story of this sort I've heard over the last year. Each could have been easily avoided but ended up in senseless death which hurt the remaining families the most.
I seriously hope that the local Bay Area Porsche 'meets' don't have this type of crazy street racing going on.

Souk...I noticed that too. Apparently BMWs have filtered down to the "bling bling" crowd. (like the dude delivering pizzas in that commercial)
Porsches still are a whole cut and a class above. Even older classic ones. ![]() |
