Cool

did you hear about the '87 911 with 40k miles that was sold for $20.. the guy who bought it thought it was a joke. So the woman says her new divorced ex said to sell it and send him the $$

Favorite line: "...Well I can only say, that 99% of these goofy toys were bought with my money..."

Since most Beany Babies were made in limited editions, and I believe most of those editions have been exhausted, whatever that guy has could be worth a hell of a lot more than $860.

As they say: "Cheaper to keep her," in this case, it might pay off to get rid of her...

That was great. I laughed so hard that I woke up my wife. Who started going through the Beanies telling me which ones were valuable. He had a lot of really old Beanies, including some very valuable ones. Uh-oh, could I be writing such an auction someday? We have crate after crate of these things but AFAIK my wife isn't having an affair. Well, there's two sides to everything. His wife may have been doing hanky-panky with a Beanie salesman, but can you blame her, married to "drunkensailor" with 502 eBay points?

Hey, that'll buy some tools! Or...pay for an hour or two of a divorce lawyer's time.

WOW! deja friggin vu! I went through the same breakup as mr. Beanie here. and guess what, I too have a box of beanies that were left behind. only thing here is that I have more than 100 of these silly things! I did consider e-baying them but never got around to it. perhaps...

when I counted them a while back, I discovered that even if I only valued them at about ten bucks a head that they would be worth over a thousand dollars. now I know they're worth even more.

hmmmmm, what to do with all that money???

Sell them! While they're still worth something to somebody. Remember "Cabbage Patch Kids"? I wonder what they're worth today...

and yes Adam, I did consider the timeline on this too. I had put it on the back burner but now that I see that these things are selling, I think I'll pull it back to the fore again

Good thinking! TOOLS! I mean, how many angry women would think of grabbing the tools when they leave? The silver, the linen, the TV and sound system, even all the cars...sure. But tools? Not as likely to happen. Probably because they're heavy to carry, and few women have a use for them.
