how do i attach a previous thread or an email to a post?

Go to the previous thread and left click and highlight the URL in the address bar. Then right click and copy the address.
When in the thread right click and paste the copied link onto the post.

You may have to highligh, copy and paste the contents of an email as opposed to providing a link.
