I believe it is time for a preemptive strike against France. We *know* they have WMD, and clearly they are helping terrorists. Now if they only had some oil...

Reports say it seems as if it was US Intelligence inside France supplementing the French intelligence, which is somewhat of an oxymoron in this case - "French intelligence," that is.

The terrorists were ready to board the plane, including one who had been trained to "fly."

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it does seem like something more than just an oversight. I mean, how inept can a country be given today's circumstances with terrorism?

It's a good thing the U.S. Intelligence is operating inside these foreign countries. We obviously cannot depend on, in the very least, the French.

Don't know where you guys get this crap......, where do you?

I did see Island's link before it was corrected, but hey, ever think of checking w/ another source?? Maybe any mainstream, (not Rush, Fox, or NY Post), news source.

Anyways........., , the story that you like does not resemble anything that really happened, nor was it ever reported in, say, the L.A. or N.Y. Times. (Pinko rags, I know,.....). The U.S. government asked Air France to cancel the flights, for chrissakes. So you think that our govt. wanted the hijackers to board, (including possibly a uniformed pilot), so that we could "snag" them once they hatch their plot??? It might be a little too frickin' late at that point, Sherlock.

Put down the remote and the pipe, boys, I know that Rush has started a new trend of "partying like it's 1999" among you ditto heads, but come on, really.

Denis: no one here said that the grounded Air France flights entailed a plot hatched by the U.S.

In fact, as I remember, Aurel was the only one who mentioned that theory, and I think that was done in jest, though I could be wrong.

CNN last night said that the canceled flight from Paris was bound for LA. That 3 people were suspicious, one had a commercial pilots license. The theory was that they were going to crash it into Las Vegas......Hey wait a minizile...THEY WERE GOING TO CRASH IT INTO ME...Oh my Gawd I must have bin getting close...either that or it was a plot hatched by those evil R Buddies...has anybody checked into any links between the R Buddies and Al Oadea????

David, I was refering to Island's post to the effect that, "the French monkeys blew our 'cover' and the investigation". Hadn't heard about the "plot hatched by the U.S." angle until you mentioned it.

Well, to clarify things, I meant it was a plot hatched by the French and found out by the U.S.

But again, I don't want to jump to conclusions.

Neither the French nor the USA "HATCHED" anything. There is strong suspicion that Al Qaeda was going to blow me up in Las Vegas. Now who released the information, was it the French wanting to hurt US efforts. Was it the USA and French security forces trying to foil the plot? The media said the people who they were suspicious of never showed for the flight. If the plot was foiled and there was no hope of apprehending the indivduals who the security forces were suspicious of then as I said it's good PR to release the fact that a potential terrorist attack was foiled. It just goes to show just how SAFE we are now.

I chuckled when reading about a woman who was delayed on her way home in Tahiti. She was mad because she didn't receive advance notice of the cancelation. Hey, can somebody tell the Taliban to please tell the passengers of an impending terrorist act? Guess it would be better to die on a plane highjacked by a terrorist than arrive safely at home, albeit a little late, eh?
