What is this 'error' message?

I've been getting this for about 2 weeks. Never saw it before that.

"Failure! I was trying to decode:

and got this error:
didn't find Auth-Data in header:

Happens when I try to load or refresh a Pelican BBS page. Usually when things are slow.

As long as I am asking stupid ?'s, what is eRam that is made fun of on the 911 BBS?

Milt,

This is a common error...

Translated into human speak means... "Something bad just happened. Mash keys in fustration and re-load the page. If this fails to resolve the issue, spend more money upgrading to Windows version you don't have."

99% of error messages these days are worthless! Don't tell you a damn thing. ...and if you haven't figured it out already, I have no idea what that means, perhaps a resident propeller-head can help.

Hah! Only did that once. That's when I found out how they grab your system. Had to reboot just to get out of there! Anytime I see something seizing my system, I'm gone.

I know these are not technical terms. Let me be a bit more informative. I'm still on a dial up; a major/popular ISP that provides excellent firewall and filtering. So, when something is weird and I suspect I'm being invaded, I cut it short then and there.

But, that wasn't the question, was it? This all started about when Wayne was reconfiguring his site. 2-3 weeks ago.

I got majorly hacked when I was on cable modem. I relied on the ISP firewall which I found out is useless. Totally f-ed up my hard drive. Only recourse was to re-format.

I have a wireless system which has a firewall, ISP firewall and a firewall/anti-virus software...totally paranoid now. It keeps track of how many hack attemps...I have had as many as 200 in one day. It records where they come from and I typically will send emails to ISP'ers to inform them of their customers illegal activity.

To get back to your original question...don't know. Don't you just love these value added posts?
