Wow, check this out. I have talked to the owner about this car.
Only car (RS America left) with the 33 factory miles on it. This thing is sweet. I wish I had the $ to make an offer on it. What a sweet ride.

Yea its nice.. BUT..

unles this is your absolute dream car and you wanted to drive it.. even then.. I'd say there are nice driven examples for less than a premium.

Other than miles, I'm not sure what would be the reason. As soon as you'd drive it, you'd eat your premium.

A waste to the owner but a not to the lucky person who buys it. I think this is on ly 1 of three RS Americas that had the "900" package on the car.

The value of that car will melt quicker then an ice cream cone on a hot august day the moment you drive it around the block. No thanks there are other RSA's around with fewer then 15k on the clock for a better price. Besides the premium that the RSA's command over a plain jane 964 aint worth it for the 200 lbs in weight loss and manual steering. Swap the rack out and buy a wing and decals and pocket the 8 k you'll save.

Who buys a "true drivers car" then does not drive it? I agree on the 200lbs I questioned the point of that car from the outset. They are pretty though.

I think there are advantages to low miles cars...I know I paid a few $K premium to get a car with 40K miles instead of 80K miles, and without a doubt that money is going away as I put more miles on her (at 52K now). In the grand scheme of things though, it's only a few $K. In this case, I think if someone bought the car to drive it, they'd be looking at lots of money dropping per mile. If you kept it for a year and put 10K miles on it, your market value would be pretty close to the other RSAs around...

If you're going to put it in a garage/museum and stare at it...then that's another story.

DROOL...the RS's are def one of the more desirable 911'son my list...BUT...

it would make a nice trophy...

if I had to decide between this one and one with 10K + miles I'd take the 10K miles...

why?

cuz these cars are ment to be driven, low mileage is not necessarily better...this car is not even low milage, it is ultra low...which means the car just sat there for months and months...

not good for the engine, tranny, suspension and tires...

gotta keep the juices flowin

I have to agree, what a waste of a nice car.

If you were to buy it, and drive it, you'd need to do a ton of work on it. In reality, it is a MINT museum piece now.

Hey guys,
Man alot of bashing! A Porsche is ment to be driven.....actualy they were ment to be raced! I have 4 race porsches and many road cars that get their legs streached on a daily basis. But this one was saved from being used by a couple of hours. I'm sure she wants to break out and be free but it would be a shame to not have one left that opitimizes what the car looks like when it rolled of the factory floor. Could you imagine how much you would be salivating if this was an add for a 1972 Rs? Would you be bashing it then or would you be thankful that one person had the ability to do what I did. A 72 rs sold for 13 k 30 years ago and now they are woth 5 to 7 times that much with alot of miles on it. I wonder what a 72 rs would be worth if it was never driven? I wonder if this car will have one half of appretiation once time has gone by. Could you imagine if it was worth 5 times as much???? I can. Drive the best car in the world all you want boys, but there are times that they just need to be loved and appreciated the way I have!

That cars been around forever with the same story, and in another 30 years it will be a fantastic museum piece, maybe they'll get Cole Scrogham to "restore" it and even bring back the Manhattan Trophy just for him to win, all of which would qualify it as anything but a car...

This car has been for sale for awhile on the RA America.net web site for an asking price of $69,9000....
http://www.rsamerica.net/market/vehicles/index.htm

Having recently purchased a 25,000 mile 85 Carerra Targa, in near perfect showroom condintion, I gotta say, I'm not diriving it much. It's just too hard to leave it parked anywhere. I'm stumped on the garage queen thing..... Why buy it if you can't drive it, yet driving it kills what makes it unique and special.

I'm stumped.

"briano555", why are you selling her now? Why not hold on to her another 20 years or so?

Wait a second... this car is right down the street from me... Maybe I can stop by for a test drive?

Porsche Crest Premium ... huh, don't make me sick!

Premiums

Buy the car, swap the motor for something you could run the piss out of, and try not to wad the car up in Turn 9 at Willow.

Then, when you're ready to sell the thing, put the original motor back in and get your precious premium.

Heck, even the old Spyders and 917s get driven at the Monterey Historics every year.

Why would some one be proud of not having LSD? He really took the no option deal seriously.

A 72 RS or any other drivers car that didn't get driven would impress me no more than a triple crown winner that never left the barn, however I'm pretty easily dazzled by high mileage cars that don't look it. They are a testimony to great engineering, loving care and maintenence and probably hold a huge amount of great stories and history, much more so than a car that never served its purpose.

A couple of questions:
1) If the car has no stereo, why are there speakers in the doors?
2)What good is a "driver's car" if it doesn't have a limited slip differential (lsd)?
3)How did the car get into the garage without being driven? Did it come on a carrier and then get pushed up the driveway?
