OT: All this for an idle adjustment..

This is slightly OT (well, completely OT, really) but what the hell. A buddy of mine has a 91 Eclipse GS-T that has an idle problem (idle surge). Somehow I got conned into saying I'd work on it. After I posted on a rice board to figure out how to do it, I really wish I wouldn't have! After a nice day at work, I get to come home and work on someone else's car Why does it have to be so complicated? You have to jump some **** off the fuse box to the battery, jump some other crap around somewhere to tell the ECU to reset itself (or something) and then adjust the idle set screw until the idle is corrected (and possibly replace the O-ring on the screw).

WHY ALL THE TROUBLE?!!?!? I hate mesisng with electronics.

Grrrr!!!
