				Figure-8 racing

I'm sitting home sick today, watching a show called "Monster Garage." These guys built up a race car, but didn't put much effort into it, from the looks of things. Then I found out why. Their "race" was on a figure-8 race track. The narrator said speeds were around 85mph, and t-bones were not rare. Ouch. Seems like the best safety equipment on earth (which these cars didn't have) would not save these guys from some pretty nasty injury. Crazy stuff.

Just plain nutty if you ask me. I saw a figure 8 race on TV once, where they towed old boats on trailers behind the race vehicles. It was farking crazy. I guess the objective was to knock your competitors trailer out of comish.

I think it's fun to watch as it is one step above demo derby. Although for winter, for excessive crazy factor, I particularly like motorcycle racing on the frozen lakes.

I agree Harry, nothing like watching motorcyles with spikes in the tires shredding a frozen pond.
