Anyone ride a scooter?

OK, the girlfriend rides a Suzuki SV650 and a 50cc Piaggio Zip scooter.

I'm not really into bikes but am thinking of adding an auto 50cc scooter to the garage (already have a 930 and an 2.7RS rep track car in there).

Pros: fun, i live inner city and don't normally venture too far other than to go to tracks, great weather most of the year in sydney (australia)

Cons: getting knocked off by someone who drives like me

What do you think?

Cheers - Ryan

ps: I could spray it gulf blue/orange to annoy the purists of both porsche and scooter camps!

Go for it. They are everywhere in Paddington.

Pros: Parking! Oh and an excuse to carry around a little black helmet with you....

There are two classes of scooter riders:
Those who have been hit
Those who are waiting for it to happen.

If you can deal with that then get the Gulf painted pain machine....

Seriously tho in London the rate of accidents involving scooters is rising very quickly.

I drive thro Central Lnodon twice a day and touch wood have not yey hit one, but it only a matter of time.

There's an older couple who lives near us...they ride a pair of Honda Helixes (500 cc 4-stroke, I think....maybe 650), wear matching US flag jackets, and have twin giant US flags hanging off the rear of the scooters.

Dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Sorry, nothing to add, just wanted to tell everyone that.

screw Jamie Oliver, no you screw Jamie Oliver, I'll opt for Nigella Lawson...

I'll ride whatever it takes to get next to that...

and not just because of her Daddy's old affiliation with the Exchequer, either.

any guidance regarding the roads she hangs around in, just in case I find myself in GB?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!

A bicycle requires more effort by the user but is much cheaper and healthier in the long run.

Nigella is another in the seemingly endless series of British TV chefs. (Not sure that I understand that - ever eat Brit food?)
She hit the waves about the same time as Jamie, with a show called "Nigella Bites". And, I assure you - she don't bite!

Her show changed names to Summer... something-or-other, can't remember. I never seem to catch her anymore.

She is pure sex if you're taken in by the sultry, full-figured, mature, intelligent type. The kind that looks you in the eye while things are going down, if you know what I mean. She's probably 40-ish - right in my snack bracket. Maybe some of the Brits can clarify or expand here on Nigella's virtues.

Her Daddy used to Chancellor of the Exchequer - think Brit version of Greenspan.

Jamie seems like a great guy and I do like his show. No shots at him I'm sure, he was probably just an excuse to put Nigella in mind.

Ciao

..right you are Joe, you're batting 1000.

Yes, Jamie Oliver does seem like a good guy. I've even watched his show a few times. Sitting patiently, indulging the wife. The trickiest part of that scenario (watching the cooking channel with the wife), was always maintaining a calm - I-could-care-less demeanor whenever Nigella came on.

Wife: "I don't know what all the fuss about her is - I don't think she's particularily attractive - do you?"

Me: "who?"

Wife: "that Nigella Lawson"

Me: "I don't know who that is..."

Wife: "her, right there on this cooking show.."

Me: "hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it, naw she's nothing special. Excuse me, I'm off to the bathroom."

But then, I'm sure that my wife does her share of being polite to me, as well. Such is life.

Ok enough boyish fawning over this woman, already.
