What makes me mad is some psyco driving his car all over the highway trying to miss something as harmless as a cigarette butt. Get a grip!

My wife has a friend who smokes. She was smoking before we all went somewhere in my car. I asked her to put the cigarette out... so she dropped it and stepped on it before climbing in my car.

Of course, the cigarette (which had not extingushed) stuck to the bottom of her shoe and burned a nice hole in my floormat. I was fuming!

My wife never let me mention it to her (or anyone). Thanks for listening.

I got one once with a 32 oz. Coke across his windshield. He barely stayed on the road. I'll try harder next time.

What's next guys?

Bricks & shotguns?

Axeman 01-29-2004 05:31 PM

I'm a smoker, and I usually don't throw the butt out the window (I don't smoke in the 911 anyway), I keep a soda can or something and put it out in there.
And smoking is not a crime against humanity is by the way, not necessary to start a war on this thread, we got enough hypocrisy going on in this "land of the free".

Get over it and try to avoid so much coffee in the future. ;)

I just got a new F-350 for my wife...

...best trade I ever made.

I've had cigarettes come in thru the safari windows of my VW bus - that pissed me off pretty good. And while it's not driving related, ever notice the piles of cigarette butts around any coffee shop? These people feel it's perfectly natural to just fling it onto the sidewalk when they're done.

Years ago I watched a little old lady do the worst thing to a smoker I have ever seen.
She sprayed a can of what I though was air freshener around her and when a smoker lit up next to her her he just about turned inside out!
I did not have a chance to find out what the spray was....too bad...I would have bought it by the case.
There must be a chemical engineer here....what would cause the violent reaction of cigarette/spray?

Dear psycho - sorry for the diss.

I was just trying to stir things up a little. I like the thread.

Good job!

Just kidding, I don't smoke :)

I see that ALL the time.....but here in Washington they are playing an expensive game.....I think the fine is something like 800 bucks or thereabouts if caught....

Jack Olsen 01-29-2004 06:24 PM

Tough crowd.

Cigarette smoking is expensive, dangerous, and often annoying to others.

Then again, so is driving a 911.

(For the record, I've never smoked.)

What I love is to see a whole pile of butts in the parking lot. They just pull up and empty the ashtray out on the ground. Nice.

Stuttgart951 01-29-2004 06:36 PM

Contrary to the typical Hollywood scene, a lit cigarette is not hot enough to ignite gasoline fumes.

The only danger is a touch of ash on your car.

kepperly 01-29-2004 06:54 PM

Just to keep the flame up, I smoke and smoke in my Porsche.
I smoke Camel unfiltered the most expensive cigarette they sell.
They figure if your are hooked that bad they don't discount them.
Started when I was fourteen (53 now) and don,t give a crap
what someone in another car has to say about my habit. I smoke in my home(no children there) and refrain inside my place of work and in resturants that are so posted. I really prefer a good beer bar anyway. Before you condem smokers completly think for amoment how much additonal taxes we pay that you escape.
Get off your high horse, live and let live, Your Rights end at the begining of my nose.

well said kieth..............me too, only i'm 31

my grandmother smoked from 14-84 until breast cancer took her life, she used to always tell me there was nothing she enjoyed more than sitting and enjoying a cigarette, it's the one thing that in her long life that never really changed.

respect the individuals right to do what he/she wishes, this is america after all.........which tobacco helped finance when it all began.

Por_sha911 01-29-2004 08:03 PM

I think that you cut across 3 lanes of traffic and you used that as an excuse when the wife sitting next to you started to yell.
