I did a search on outsourcing, and surprisingly many articles stated it is not cheaper to outsource tech/white collar jobs overseas. When you couple lack of experience, language barrier, and lack of knowledge of US business practices, many times you had to hire 2 or 3 Indian employees to replace 1 US employee. I am sure the gap will narrow, but the overriding theme is Asian counterparts must learn how to coddle the customer and provide good service while US companies must learn how to provide services and innovation cheaply.

Not to mention the time difference. If one of our "outsourced" guys runs into a problem, s/he just fires off an email and doesn't do anything until s/he gets a reply. Good to see we're paying 'em to sit on their hands for 24 hours.
