So on my way to lunch today about to turn into a parking lot, i realize that the minivan catching up quickly isn't stopping. The driver is in fact looking over her shoulder to find an opening in traffic.
![]() So I fly up the sidewalk, scrape the valence as the suspension compresses, and just barely miss getting rear-ended. Boy, that could have been ugly. I just had to vent, J ps. Happy my car is still in one piece! ![]()

Hi. How's this? I live on a rural sea island, South Carolina. Often people travelling in opposite directions stop to talk to one another. It's pretty here, and the best thing to do is just stop and sit a minute or two, or things can get unpretty in a hurry. So, I'm in my 82 SC Targa, black on black on black (I really like this car) and come upon two pickups, stopped and talking, so I stop. After a minute or so, the fella in the other lane starts up and drives past me. But the fella in my lane has more to say, so, being in a jacked up ride, not seeing me, throws it in reverse, and backs at me. I'm beeping and getting it in reverse and my 7 year old yells "Dad, Floor It!!!". I do, and actually, going backwards, pass the other guy, but still got hit. Not bad, the headlight washers snapped in half, and when I say "Didn't you hear me beeping?" he says "I thought it was my brother urging me on." Man, just another day in paradise.

that is horrible!
apparently it's really hard to prove to insurance companies that you didn't just rear-end the guy. One of my friends had a similar thing happen to him and ended up footing the bill. Hope you'll do better, J
