a little OT - VW bike rack

I am trying to help my mother find a bike rack for her 2003 Volkswagen New Beetle Cabriolet. During a search, this rack came up:

http://www.************************/ProductPage.aspx?productname=Performance+Bike+and+ Ski+Rack&productid=104581&producttype=20

Yes, it's the same one they sell for the 993 Porsche (see, there's your Porsche content - not OT after all!)... but this is only listed for the New Beetle, not necessarily the Cabriolet. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work for the New Beetle Cabrio?

Instead of debating over the fit.....tell your friend to sell his VW and buy a 993!! That would solve your problem!

Now...only if we could solve the curse of the Sox......we still have next year right?!!!

Sox got Schilling this year!

Yankees have NO Andy Pettite, NO Roger Clemens, NO David Wells, etc.

And I'm sure Pedro would still love to stick one to Don Zimmer again!

Although I'm still getting over "the thing that should not have been" last season, I think the prospects for this year look even better.

Now if they could only find a way to trade Kim for A-Rod. . .

"Sox got Schilling this year!"

Oh, breaking news... looks like the Yankees just got A-Rod. I'm still fuming over this...

actually, the yanks look like they had to deal Soriano to get A-Rod... one has to wonder: is this worth it? And why would a team get the best shortstop in baseball when they already have one of the top three best? I really honestly think that Steinbrenner did it ONLY to piss off Sox fans.

I guess this means that Nomar is once again the best shortstop in baseball?

A-rod is going to play third. I agree part of the motivation was to piss off the Sox...

when we lost him to Tejas it didn't make much difference for the Rangers, and it probably won't for the Yanks. the trade was probably made more for the effect on the front office than on the field (CJ's point)

The more I think about this, the less it looks like a big deal. let me elaborate: Soriano, probably the best 2nd baseman in the majors, was dealt for A-Rod... and Aaron Boone PROBABLY lost his job with the Yanks. Enrique Wilson, as an afterthought, will play 2nd. The way I see it, the Yankees offense didn't get that much better with the aquisition of A-Rod:

A-Rod + Enrique Wilson = Aaron Boone + Alfonso Soriano

Yes, most of the production on the left of that equation is A-Rod... I think that the combination of Boone and Soriano would put up similar numbers to A-Rod by himself. Granted, the Yankee lineup looks a lot better now...

NEW YORK (by position) Boston (by position)
Posada C Varitek C
Giambi 1 Millar 1
Wilson 2 Reese 2
Jeter SS Garciaparra SS
Rodriguez 3 Mueller 3
Matsui LF Ramirez LF
Lofton CF Damon CF
Sheffield RF Nixon RF
B. Williams DH Ortiz DH

Slight advantage to the Yankees there... but let's look at the pitching rotation, shall we?

NEW YORK BOSTON
Mussina Martinez
Vazquez Schilling
Brown Lowe
Contrarez Wakefield
Lieber BH Kim
closer: Rivera closer: Foulke

Advantage DEFINITELY goes to Boston in this situation.

Now, New York is paying $112 million for A-Rod, money they could (SHOULD) be using to go after pitching; they could have re-signed Pettite, and gone after Colon and Maddux for that money, AND had some left over for a decent set-up man.

Stein and Co. are seeming more and more inept, the more I think about it...

I dunno re compatibility, but can tell you that the rack you are looking at does not lock to the car. Therefore, you can never park anywhere with the bike on the rack, go into a store, etc., without fear of theft.
