For some odd reason That reminds me of the Armored Car heist that happend in SC about 10 years ago. Some Poor white trashy folks knocked off an armored car. Then took all the money and paid cash for a huge house and furnished it from Walmart. The also put a double wide trailer in the back yard for the cousins!

You are linking about Kings Mountain NC and you are pretty close on the details.
One of them ran off to Mexico and lived on Peanut M&M's the others went crazy spending money. One them actually went into a bank and said something along the lines of "How much can I deposit with out being reported" It was amazing they where out free for a year before getting busted
