Looks like Rick deFool lost his F1 ride.
Bob Varsha is back on the job! Along with Hobbs, Matchet and Widsor (the only one actually attending the race). Should be a good year.

John Bisgiano became a driver in some series. I don't know how he is doing. Yes, he was cool. Maybe too cool with his Polo shirt collar turnrd up.
Chris Economaki could always resurface. He does know a heck of a lot of the people, drivers, mechanics, owners and sponsors. He just got to the point in his age where he couldn't keep up with the race. Since we're talking about announcers here again, I hope Paul Page goes to Monster Trucks and tractor pulls. And who is gonna announce OWRS? Scott Pruett and Danny Sullivan would be great along side LB trackside announcer Bruce Flanders. Let's move Bruce up a booth and get him on TV! |

Yeah, the collar was a bit much, but that guy could make a routine pit stop sound like a life or death situation.

I like Hobbs and Parker Johnstone (?) The NASCAR guys are too sugary for me. Just announce the race; don't try to get so "homey."
I've heard two races partially called by Jason Priestly - he was pretty good too, as I recall.

Now, if SPEED would just *****-can Leigh Diffey.
The guy really bugs me....spoiled all the ALMS shows with his mindless chit-chat. There seems to be no shortage of talented motorsports announcers, so why does SPEED punish their audience with the blithering L.D.?

Oh, and no more Rick Da' Tool? THERE IS A GOD! Hobbs, Matchett and Windsor make a great trio. Why do we need a fourth guy anyway? |

David - You're kidding about Priestly, right?

Ah, 90210 guy was alright. But then again it was Sunday, I wasn't hung over, and so I imagine everything was alright.
But what do I know: I still miss Howard, Dandy Don and O.J. doing Monday Night Football. Now which one of those three guys is dead? ![]()

Varsha is amazing... he really is very knowledgeable and rarely stumbles or messes up. Tommy Schlongkendall can really get him flustered, though.
![]() David - did you actually watch Priestly work the pits at the USGP? He was a complete idiot. I think he should stick to the celebrity races. Anyway, I think his IRL Crapwagon crash kind of put an end to his racing days.. at least I hope it did.

If you mean "You're kidding right?" about "Why do we need a fourth guy anyway?", then no, I wasn't kidding, just asking a question. Seriously, no matter who it is, why the need for 3 "in the booth"? You are right though, Varsha is great, I have just gotten used to hearing F1 races called by Brits. You could never top Murray Walker! ![]() |

Yeh, I was talking about BV. Why do you need three people in a golf booth? Or any booth? For racing, BV si supposed to keep the race call moving forward while Hobbs notes some of the particulars and Matchet brings the tech and strategy in perspective. They dont' seem to compete and step on one another as can be the case in other booths. I wouldn't change a thing.
Even ol' DeFool started to get it pretty good by the last race. On the recap of the year, I think he said, "See you next season." Someone else thought differently. |

What happened to Sam Posey? I had a lot of respect for that guy and miss him.

Adam, I envy you! Please take pics and any impressions from the race. I'll be watching on TV, in the best seats in my house.

The ITV crew in my opinion is much better. You all just don't know what you're missing!! Martin Brundle and James Allen know what's going on. With all do respect Hobbs did once, but that was back in the 70's!
