Ain't This a B?
Here's one that you'll find hard to believe. I'm still laughing about the unbelievability.
Dropped off my set of Compomotive 16x7,8 wheels and 4 Yoko AVS tires (two tires are mounted on 16x7 951 phone dials and the other two are loose) to have them mounted & balanced. My friend Timmy is a tech. at a Saturn dealer and mounts them for free 'cause i'm such a nice guy. So he helps me unload them from my car this morning and we put the wheels and tires inside the shop, right next to the tire machinery. Shoot the breeze a little, I thank him and head across town to work. Phone rings at 11:30 and I see it's Timmy K: Hey Tim. T: Kevin! Two fuchkers just stole your wheels and tires!!!!! K: *laughs* T: I'm serious. Two mofos who always come by here to take away our junk tires stole all your *****. K: Get the hell outta here. T: I am NOT kidding. Man am I pissed!!!!!! I saw one of the other guys changing a tire and said, "Hey, don't mess with my wheels!" He said, "What wheels?" The wheels and tires my buddy brought in this morning. "There ain't no wheels and tires over here." What? So I went over there and all your stuff was gone. "The dudes were just here a minute ago to pick up the old tires." K: No way. T: So I jump in my Isuzu piece-o-***** Rodeo and go tearing all over the place trying to find these guys at other dealers (159th Street is car dealer Mecca). No luck. They're gone Dude. K: Wow. I can't believe that. T: I'm so pissed!!!! So, to make a long story short. They're gone. The junk tire guys are the ones that took 'em. We say that with certainty because they left the garbage tires and took only the nice, shiny new stuff. Sure don't wanna waste any time grabbing the garbage when there's big money to be had?!!! Local cops came by and a police report was filed, but the dumba$$ porter kids can't give a good description and nobody clearly saw them leaving with the wheels so................... ![]() ---> Compomotive Wheels = $1400 Canadian plus shipping, plus re-shipping after they had to be repaired due to damage from original UPS shipping. Call it $1000 US purchase price. ----> 4 Yokohama ES100 tires = $360 (not including shipping) ----> 2 951 16x7 phone dials = $225 ----> Total chunk of coin down the crapper = about 2 grand total out of pocket. Ain't that a B!tch? Needless to say i'm a little pissed.....................

Kevin, Maybe one of the other dealers (or gas stations/tire services) know where the guys work out of. Calling around may help get a lead.
Local papers and Ebay may be another approach. Hopefully these guys are as stupid as their actions.

Buy them, sell them

That blows.
![]() Have your buddy write up a work order for the fitment of tires and handling of your wheels. The workshop is insured against this sort of thing - if you're a paying customer. ![]()

Thanks Rick. Word is out to many of the local dealers. We'll see what happens. Guess I gotta keep my eye on the local trader paper now............
Adam, Too late for that. Cops were on the scene soon thereafter. So shop admin. is well aware of the incident and "will get to the bottom of it." Not likely, but thanks for the reassurance? They're gone. Here's me waving goodbye to my wheels and tires................ ![]()
