I heard about eight months ago that Apple was coming out with a variant of their software to run on Windows machines. Anyone hear about that?

I'd be surprised if MS would allow this. They bailed Apple out a few years ago by porting over their Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, etc.) for Mac OS and help keep them afloat. I guess it wouldn't look as good for MS if there were no competition. Apple represents evidence to the govt. MS isn't a total monopoly; they haven't driven out every competitor from the market .... yet.
But I don't think MS would allow another OS to run on top of Windows unless it was a lame version; they might allow something that people wouldn't consider converting over to a real Mac. MHO, Sherwood |

"This is how "Soft Windows" works, though in reverse of your description: it's a Windows emulator for Macs."
Windows works even slower as Soft Windows/PC on a Mac. Same thing - It doesn't create any more enthusiasm to switch to Windows either. Sherwood |
