Do spiders and other tiny things have a heart?
Accidently smoked some A1 chronic last night and ended up having a debate over tiny spiders and other silly little insects and if they had a heart and a blood system and if it was pumped round their tiny little hands and feet.
Anyone like to interject? Andy, UK |
Yes. Spiders have hearts, too.
|
I have no idea what A1 chronic is....sounds like some kind of scientific hallucinagin.
Yes, all living things have heart and soul. Except maybe some plants. |
amazing. what about if they needed a triple bypass through years of bad diet and alchohol abuse? keyhole surgery?
|
hmmm, you insinuating that flies and such are high in cholesterol?
|
Spiders are on the Atkins diet...gotta be bad for the ticker in the long run...but they do have those slim thorax's and legs...clearly the diet works.
|
I wonder if some spiders and other critters are prone to being overweight, or if that is a uniquely human characteristic?
|
They have an exoskeleton so if they consume too much they die. To grow, they must molt the old exoskeleton.
I know what "Chronic" is, is A1 the classification, like A-1 Steak Sauce, or does it have something to do with a road? |
Someone at work was telling me that an average person eats 7 spiders in their lifetime during his/her sleeping hours. Think about that the next time you wake up and feel something caught in your throat. Yack..
I think Andy means A-1 like the steak sauce. Or maybe he just wants to eat some steak with A-1 after he's had his chronic. .:D |

Guess it could be worse..... :D |

wow how cool. I've heard that same statistic, except I heard it was something like 70-80 spiders. they just see a moist hole shack up I guess.
ado... I too know all about the A-1. :) |

Hmmm...well, okay. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1082745592.jpg |
Sorry, that gets a bigger "yick" than the spiders. At least the spiders are free of any complex polymers.
|
Woof....
|
Do spiders and other tiny things have a heart? Haven't you ever heard of Spider Veins? ;)
Everything you want to know about Spiders...including their heart, arteries, respiratory system: http://atshq.org/articles/Respiration.pdf |
Spiders are classifed as animals. Insects have 6 legs for the most part. Spiders, with their 8 legs, aren't insects for some reason. It has to be more than the legs.

"What are the differences between spiders and insects? -Spiders have two main body parts, eight walking legs, simple eyes and piercing jaws (fangs), abdominal silk spinning organs, anterior abdominal genital opening. -Insects have three main body parts, six walking legs, compound eyes, antennae, chewing jaws (mandibles - often secondarily modified), posterior abdominal genital opening. -Spiders can't fly. -Many insects can fly." |

Difference between insects & spiders?
The spiders taste better. |
well, they both do crunch about the same. I guess spiders are a little less runny
|
Why do they need 8 legs? Cant they get buy with two or four like all the other little creatures? What makes them so special?
F#ckers... |
I feel cheated now being a bipedal mammal. I want my other six legs dammit. NOW!!! Where's the number for that genetic engineer?
|
Now this is what I'm talkin' about!! Good old fashioned off topic talk that doesn't get people's panties in a bunch.
When I was a kid, I would pick up spiders and mess with 'em. I would set up 'homes' for them in big jars or boxes. Ever heard of "Writing Spiders"? I'll poke around the web and find a pic. Those suckers got big and were my favorite to catch. |
Don, I'm offended at your use of the word "panties". This sort of rabid pro-underwear stance has no place on this board, and will not be tolerated.
Were Boris the Spider and The Spiders from Mars related? |
damnit Todd, you beat me to it again! I still have a bone to pick however, as his use of the phrase "Good old fashioned" obviously makes him a hardcore right-winger. the nerve...
as for your question I'm not sure, but wasn't Karloff from Mars? |
How do you "accidently" smoke something? :D
|
if we had 8 legs imagine what panties would look like! would that mean the holiest of holeys would b....naw, no way....nevermind!
|
lmao |
FK spiders, I just step on em..... I like the squishing sound when they get squashed.
|
Just heard that spiders and geckos have thousands of hairs on their feet; more contact area relative to their body weight that enables them to walk upside down on ceilings and rapel into your pie hole at night.
Well, the spiders anyway. Not sure what the gecko's agenda is. Sherwood |
Todd, dude, I would NEVER assume that you wear any type of undergarments.
Be that as it may, I have to go out on the porch and whittle me a stick, get a 'chaw of t-bakker' and look down my nose at.... well.... something ! Good night now! |
it's almost noon!
