Do spiders and other tiny things have a heart?

Accidently smoked some A1 chronic last night and ended up having a debate over tiny spiders and other silly little insects and if they had a heart and a blood system and if it was pumped round their tiny little hands and feet.

Anyone like to interject?

Andy, UK

Yes. Spiders have hearts, too.

I have no idea what A1 chronic is....sounds like some kind of scientific hallucinagin.

Yes, all living things have heart and soul. Except maybe some plants.

Spiders are on the Atkins diet...gotta be bad for the ticker in the long run...but they do have those slim thorax's and legs...clearly the diet works.

I wonder if some spiders and other critters are prone to being overweight, or if that is a uniquely human characteristic?

They have an exoskeleton so if they consume too much they die. To grow, they must molt the old exoskeleton.

I know what "Chronic" is, is A1 the classification, like A-1 Steak Sauce, or does it have something to do with a road?

Someone at work was telling me that an average person eats 7 spiders in their lifetime during his/her sleeping hours. Think about that the next time you wake up and feel something caught in your throat. Yack..

I think Andy means A-1 like the steak sauce. Or maybe he just wants to eat some steak with A-1 after he's had his chronic. .

wow how cool. I've heard that same statistic, except I heard it was something like 70-80 spiders. they just see a moist hole shack up I guess.

Sorry, that gets a bigger "yick" than the spiders. At least the spiders are free of any complex polymers.

Spiders are classifed as animals. Insects have 6 legs for the most part. Spiders, with their 8 legs, aren't insects for some reason. It has to be more than the legs.

"What are the differences between spiders and insects?

-Spiders can't fly.

-Many insects can fly."

eau contraire, mon frer. although spiders don't have biological appendages that are meant to enable them to fly, (probably what you meant) some species fly over considerable distances by secreting strands of web that will carry them aloft on breezes. pretty clever, actually
