Hello from the newest CSR

Hello there all. I'd just like to to everyone here and introduce myself as the newest Customer Service rep here at Pelican. I've been with the team a bit over a month now and really enjoying myself.
A bit about myself. Joined the Air Force shortly after HS, ended up in Alaska for my 4 years, stayed up there as a mechanic for a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealership for a couple years and now I'm back home in sunny southern California. Love cars and I'm glad I'm back in the industry. I've personally never owned or worked on a Porsche or BMW (And from what I hear, I hope I never have to work on one! hehe).
I don't frequent the boards as much as some, so PMing with problems won't get you immediate assistance. Feel free to email me at travis@pelicanparts.com or the main address...both end up in my inbox. Considering that I'll probably only hear from you if there's a problem with your order, I hope I don't talk to too many of you! 3rd CRS at Elmendorf. I was in the Sensors lab...fixed the LANTIRN system, if you know it.

Hmm No Porsche or Bmw experience. Good luck I would think that would be mandatory. Oh well I guess knowlege does'nt matter.

Well, at least his job will be easier now that a certain mistake prone, "very knowledgeable" employee has left us.

Steve,

Travis is actually a pretty smart guy (you have to have some brains to work on military guidance systems), enthusiastic and he's even a nice guy to work with. Knowledge will come with time on both Porsche and BMW. Unlike yourself, he will ask before assuming anything and he doesn't act like he knows everything.

"Bmw" is actually all CAPS (BMW)

I'm a little shocked to see Pelican employees on this thread slinging mud at listers. Guys, we pay your salaries through our purchases. It might serve you better to hold your criticisms to yourselves.

And yes, we do expect you to be knowledgeable. That's part of what we pay for when we order parts.

Yesterday, I walked into a 4 Wheel Parts store down here in Irvine with the intent of dropping a thousand bux on stuff for my new truck. The dolt behind the counter knew nothing about what I wanted (common stuff) and spent the entire time with his nose in the catalog looking at the wrong stuff. I left abruptly, because I was so embarrassed for him, and went home and ordered everything off the internet.

Just my humble .02...

I've never slung mud or anything else at one of our customers or listers...until this thread.

In a mild, brief, detail-free explanation, the lister mentioned above used to work here, and did more than a few questionable things.

I would never bash one of our listers/customers, as you are correct. YOU DO PAY OUR SALARIES.

Personally, I love talking to our customers, as they not only co-sign my check, but also are fun-lovin' car guys having as much fun as their wives will allow them to, which is a description that fits me to a tee also.

I do apologize if anyone else was taken aback by any comments I made, as I had no intention of offending any of you. God bless.

As for Porsche/BMW knowledge, Travis is learning fast, and is quite knowledgeable about other cars. He is most certainly an asset.

They will make your truck silly fast. Ask for Dennis Perry (its sick that I remember the guys name after 4 years). He is considered the best in PSD high performance.

Wow... is this stuff for real? I can get a chip that adds 125hp for $425??? And improves gas mileage 2-4mpg? Seems to good to be true...

I have had the 125 chip for a few years now and have been pleased with it.
I am not tryng to start another chip war....but I feel a definate difference. I am not sure it is 125hp worth, but the shift points are better, etc. I would say the chip is worth the money. I think he would refund you if you did not agree.
The other stuff...like propane injection and the like... is the real deal.

Lormax- I believe Motion prefers bridges as a more long term investment vehical.
