Pee into your emissions control system!
I knew you guys would love this.
Mercedes Benz has just announced that the widely available TDI (Direct Injection) series of turbodiesels, available everywhere in the world but in the States, will be imported into the USA with the 2006 model year. 3 States will require additional emissions controls installed. New York, New Jersey and, of course, California. The additional emissions control will be a refillable urea (solidified urine products) filter/container thru which the engine exhaust will pass. The container is changed at every oil change. I dunno about you, but following a typical ricer vehicle already smells bad enough. Is enough of a reason to pass them at every opportunity. |

Solidified urine products. That is horrible, I really wonder what kind of difference that would actually make if any besides smell. If I ever buy a Benz - I don't want that crap (literally) in my car.

What? . . .I thought everybody knew that Mercedes designed their cars so you could drive the piss out of 'em.

Actually, urea has been used for decades as a selective catalytic converter for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in industrial air pollution control systems. Adding it to a vehicles emissions control is a pretty logical next step. I see your humor in it though. (I'm a former Air Pollution Control Engineer)

Was it at a 'test only' or a 'full service test and repair' facility?
Did they provide paper?
