The movies you are embarrassed to like (guilty pleasures)
Okay, I'm sure there are a few movies nobody wants to admit liking, but I'll go out on a limb with my list of 'so bad they're good' movies:
Shakes the Clown (the scene with Florence Henderson makes the entire movie worthwhile for me) The Groove Tube (70s humor) Earth Girls Are Easy (what can I say, I have a thing for Geena Davis) Starship Troopers (alien bugs help fascists rule; cute chicks fight alongside guys; stuff blows up) The Mysterians (50s Japanese sci fi rules)

I don't feel guilty about it, but mine is "Spaceship." Low budget sci-fi spoof of Alien starring Leslie Nielsen, that guy who played Steed in Avengers, Cindy Williams from Lavere and Shirley, and Gerritt Graham. The set is 3 rooms that could have been made by high school kids, including a hallway that they change the numbers on to make it seem like different decks of the ship. Star of the movie (can't recall his name) wrote and directed, also wrote the soundtrack and plays the rubber-suited Creature killing everyone on board. How he got the well-known cast to star in this film, I've no idea. He once e-mailed a thanks to me after reading a post about the film on Usenet (I was looking for it on DVD, turned out it had a different name on disc). I believe he's a film critic for a small city newspaper now.

I've got one labled "Our Honeymoon", I'm proud as all get out but my second wife would die of embarassment if she found out it still existed.
I've been tempted to send a copy to her parents !!

My list:
The Car - 70's horror flick about a mysterious Lincoln terrorizing a town - doesn't get any better than that! Plan 9 from Outer Space - THE Grand-daddy of B-flicks! (I have it on DVD!) Swamp Thing - Cheezy fun! Days of Thunder - Yeah, it's Nascar, but it still gets my adrenaline going. And that car-rental race scene was fun! Gone in 60 Seconds (The original) - I also have this on DVD. ![]() Escape From NY - Something about a post-apocalypic movie that gets me... Army of Darkness - Bruce Campbell rocks!! "This is my BOOM stick!" "Gime some sugar, baby!"

Old School. Supposed to be a teen comedy. This movie was right up my 35 year old adolecent humor.
The scene with the Will Ferrell and the tranquilizer gun at the birthday party was so freakin funny. Vince Vaughn was hilarious in the whole movie. Two classic lines from Vaughn's character: "Well, let me be the first to say congratulations to you man; you have one vagina for the rest of your life. Real smart man." "Well why don't you give me your number in case anything happens to my wife"
