now comes another book
First it was "The Price of Loyalty", the story of Paul O'Neil and his tenure as the Secretary of the. U.S. Treasury. Economist, captain of industry, and obviously a brillant individual.
Then came "Against All Enemies" by Richard A. Clarke. During the Reagan admin he was the Deputy Assistant Sec of State for Intel. During GPBush's term he was the Sec of State for Politio- Military Affairs. Under Clinton he was appointed the first National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism and continued that position under GWBush. Now comes a new book by Gen Anthony Zinni (ret). Two of his positions during his service carrer were the Commander of the Middle East Forces and was Special Envoy of the Middle East for GWB. I think this one will be the most damning of the lot and expose grave problems in the Pentagon, as the first two shed light on the White House and the problems there. If President Bush has any hopes of salvaging his presidency he had better start asking for letters of resignation tomorrow. The hearings that will come will be at least as interesting as the Watergate hearings. I believe this book will be the undoing of many top individuals advising our president. I suggest you read the first two books, i know i will be reading this third installment also. kevin |
