I may be one of the biggest RR fans out here, but I think this is a step too far.

Think of it this way...instead of building an expensive memmorial to Ronnie the Popular we just rename the Pentagon after him and save the money. It would be an apt memorial to him.

There are to be no memorials built to dead politicians until after they have been dead 25 years. Signed into law by RR himself.

VaSteve -- true enough, but the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center is beautiful, though not a "monument." I think the U.S.S.Ronald Reagan is the best memorial thus far!

Got to agree, doesn't make sense to me either. Neither does putting his face on the $10 bill.

A Supercarrier, a $10 bill, the renamed Pentagon and a Presidential Library would be enough for me.

I will vote for this, but only if they agree to call it the "Rentagon"

I guess this board's mourning period is over...

Someone asked me today if his body is really in the casket. I just shrugged: I don't know...

I do know that Marilyn Monroe is buried in a wall in Westwood CA., and that Hugh Hefner purchased the "drawer" above hers. That way he can always be "on top" of Marilyn.

The most pressing thought I had today while catching a bit of the parade of the body through wherever was "do they train military horses not to poop during formal events?"

I'm just not a big fan of pomp and circumstance. I hope to have my body thrown into the sea via catapult when I die.

I think the Pentagon's name should go the the highest bidder. The military needs a corporate sponsor to defray costs.

How about the Nike Pentagon?

Maybe a Microsoft Cruisemissle.

It's terribly wasteful to name these structures after dead people.

"This is Wolf Blitzer reporting from the McDonalds Whitehouse where you can have it your way."

I like it.

I keep telling people that when my time comes I am going to be the very first person to fly a Cessna 150 from Santa Monica to Honolulu.

Or die trying.
