You can still fine clean YSR out there for about 1400.00 thats the going rate right now, but ive seen some go for 2800.00 with mods such as 80cc to 125cc crazy mods. So if you guys want a true Mini Replica Racer get one of these... And for you married guys out there? Like myself.. You can tell your better half you bought it for JR..

I had many a chance to pick-up a YSR back in my sportbike days, but back then I didn't see tha value I see now.

So I need to find a used pocketbike NOW! I've budgeted $150 for a used generic ride which I can pick up and put in the back of my Tahoe. All leads appreciated.

John

Beware of the cheap $400 pocketbike you see on Ebay. A few months ago myself and 4 friends picked them up. Within 30 minutes of riding, three of the exhaust pipes broke off at the welds, two had the plastic fairings pull off of the mounting screws, two had the motor come loose from the frame and break at least one bolt off in the motor itself. We rode on a perfectly smooth blacktop driveway about a quarter mile long so it wasn't abuse on our part. The higher quality pocketbike made by Polini or Blata is a much higher performance and quality product. These will definatly cost you almost as much as a used motorcycle. Save your money, the novelty wears off very quickly.

Tsinger is spot on. THe Polini's are probably the best... But they aren't convenient for anything... Even as a pit bike...

Fun, but really something you'll ride once a month after about a year. More fun ifyou know several people with them and like to race...

how about this nitemare

its a 92 honda st50 or 'dax' as they are also known. we binned the 50cc engine and stuck a race tuned 5 speed 100cc two stroke in it with a race expansion pipe(altough in the pic it has a standard engine/un tuned exhaust in it) we widened the rear swing arm to get the widest scooter tyre we could find on the back (140!) and lowered/uprated the suspension.
basically it was unridable. the thing would lift its front wheel in first second and third just off the throttle. the guy that tuned the engine (some mad aussie) claimed that it should have about 30hp and i rekon he was right!
its for sale by the way, would make a great pit bike!!

These Pocket mini bikes are like flies multiplying, just like when the Razor scooter was just introduced. This weekend at Huntington Beach on Main street they were 25 of them in a group, all kids & teenagers having a blast. Its a blast when you have alot of guys and girls that meet up and ride together, unfortunetly HB Police was not happy about it cuase these mini bikes are prohibitted on the streets. Thats the only draw back about these mini bikes thier not DOT approved!! I honestly think people are getting ripped off for something they cant use on the public streets, plus the guys that sell them get them for 128.00 dollars and sell them for 400.00 plus... MEAN PROFIT...

City of Irvine California..Where there is not one Liquor store in site.... Man let me tell you about Irvine Police.. They dont follow thier own books there, i have a few friends that live down University and over at Westpark if you know what area im talking about. Ive seen these pocket bikes stuffed in the trunks of thier patrol car, and kids in the back seat crying. What Irvine needs to do is educate local nieghborhoods about the differences between scooter, mini bikes and electric operated. Or better yet parents need to call thier local police department or Department of Motor Vehicles and ask them the rules & regulations of operations, because these kids & teens who have are in riding in public streets thinking thats its ok, unfortunetly not.

Cool Brian! Great that you can share the love of motorcycles with your kid!

I was just out at Spectrum Honda/Ducati. They have a brand new NSR50 sitting there for around $3500.

(2) 1978 Yamaha Chappys. 80cc, two stroke, automatics. One runs on choke (needs carb cleaning), one has a stuck motor. One has 699 miles, the other has 400. One is titled, one is not. Both have owner's manuals and are in near museum condition. (just overlook that little stuck motor thing)

Two sweet little bikes that won't need much to make 100%.

Located in the Northeast Kingdom. Delivery anywhere in New England or upstate NY for $1.00 a mile. Asking $1500 for the pair...if interested, email me at vintagevehicles@gmail.com or call me at 802.584.3229
