My favorite art car in El Lay was done by Philip Garner (now Pippa) who put a fully functional flying bridge and deck rails on a '70s Buick 225, making it a true "land yacht"

Yes, Philip was a member of Ant Farm, an art collective in SF and has put his cartoons of inventions in Road & Track) and maybe in Car and Driver) for many years.
At some point recently, he decided to become a 'she' -- a very scary-looking 'she' in my opinion, but Pippa seemed to get along fine with the other Monster Garage folks...
