how about a bling-bling thread......

i'll start................
this was in the shop today, spinner wheels, suade/leather interior (tan/blue) and clumsy doors.
they refabricated hinges so they'd only open about 1/3 of normal then they flip forward.......average engineering imo.
it did have a mobile satalite antenna on the roof for all the tv's :D

i saw a rusted out ford pos hooptie with hubcap spinners on it. i just about crashed due to laughing my butt off. at least he didnt have real ones on it. sorry no pictures though.

osidak 06-15-2004 04:43 AM

I saw those hub cap spinners at a pepboys. I looked at the price and was shocked. They are made of really cheap plastic and they where charging $50 for a set of two.

Looked to be 14 inchers. The 15's where sold out. Guess it is better than the $1000's that those anchors would cost.

As for the picture...... Why?

VaSteve 06-15-2004 05:22 AM

I was driving my 911 behind a guy with those hubcaps. Stupid jerk wouldn't let me pass, every time I sped up, he did. I was afraid one would detach from the wheel and I'd run it over.

Those semi-scissor door look hard to get past.

djmcmath 06-15-2004 06:18 AM

You build doors like that into a car to make it harder to get into. It's like an automatic filter for fat chicks, you see. Can't get into my car? Must be too fat, take a hike, lady! Really simplifies the process of selection.

on-ramp 06-15-2004 06:33 AM

the fat ones climb in through the back door.

vash 06-15-2004 08:45 AM

not fair, dont you work for a stereo shop? you must see the best examples. oh, i bet the tire shops see better.

Does a chop-top, gull-winged Fiero on 18s count as bling?

thrown_hammer 06-15-2004 09:13 AM

Here is a Cayenne Turbo we saw at the local Dealer. It was SICK YO!

I wouldn't consider the Fiero bling. It's too clean, too original. It I would replace those wheels with something more proportionate, like 16's.

RickM 06-15-2004 10:23 AM

Those are Semi-Scissor doors as well. Gullwings hinge entirely from the roof.

Moses 06-15-2004 10:39 AM

Check out this e-Bay beauty! (It used to be a 914)

djmcmath 06-15-2004 10:46 AM

Well, the biggest problem with the 914 was trying to figure out which end of the door to open. You had to look to see which side the steering wheel was on to figure out which end was the front. :) But boy, I wouldn't be caught dead in that cartoony thing ...

Guys, I'm pretty sure that Cayenne is owned by a Pelican member...

UconnTim97 06-15-2004 10:10 PM

I don't think those wheels look bad on that Cayenne...
