Lynn, all I can say is be vigilant. if someone misquotes you or, worse yet as in your example, downright lies and makes stuff up, don't be afraid to get in there and straighten them out. I will say that this forum is not the be-all-to-end-all repository of important political writings, so if you get quoted out of context, plagiarized, or mis-attributed (to coin a new phrase) I'm sure it won't make the evening news. analysis: your political career is safe

now what's that I saw you writing about my momma!!! :D

You've shown that both Conserative and Liberal are incapable of seeing beyond the noses of your own idelogy that you can't envison the total reality of the situations your faced with. Further it never ceases to amaze me how gullible you all are in that you fall for the same sucker punches over and over again. Now the question that begs to be answered is what would you all do if a REAL man of wealth and taste came along instead of this shabby represenative that calls himself TABS.

I keep repeating this over and over, and it is not helping.

Dan!

I DO understand how this happens, haha.

And I think the fleas of a thousand camels was a little over the top. Maybe just a few fleas.

Z-Man.... We luv ya!

Maybe you could get the quote thing fixed so no editing is possible.

Superman 06-24-2004 07:06 AM

As I have said, I may follow Lynn. You guys who like this kind of stuff can stay, and beat your chests about how you kicked the asses of some liberals. I think that discussions of public policy are ENORMOUSLY important to our national community, and I have a strong personal love for exchanging views with thoughtful people whose opinions are not the same as mine.

But that's not a description of what's happening here.

Overpaid Slacker 06-24-2004 07:16 AM

Lynn -
I don't think you and I could agree on the color of the sky... but our differences are the fuel for these threads. I think you should take some time out and cool off and come back when you realize that every adversary here is not an "enemy" but some folks are just pinheads that you have to ignore or take cum grano.

Failing that, farewell.

But I posted it--me posing as Mulholland. Does this group think that is OK? So in a week or so, someone comes along and sees this post and assumes Mulholland posted it and is a Bush-hating asshxxx---that's OK??

Am I the only one who has a problem with this?

I want to throw a tantrum right here...I am offended and shocked. My panties are all bunched up in the crack of my you know what, and it is very very very uncomfortable...This as a result irritates me to the point of near tears and makes me want to lash out and discredit anyone who disagrees with me...My disagreement will have no validity or substance it will just take the form of hysterical kicking and screaming, I will turn red and grab my ball and go home and pout.

I am launching a formal complaint with Z-man, if that doesn't work I will go all the way to the leftist thought police (the same ones who instituted hate crimes) and I will surely be beaten to a pulp...So, on second thought, I will just have a tantrum, ya, so nah nah, na nahh nahh...

p.s...I will also stick my tongue out at Porsche's that I pass and honk at them and flip them the Byrd..............so there!

I made the mistake of clicking here to see what Mul had to say. I'll never get that 30 seconds back. My bad.

All I see is:

THIS POSTER HAS BEEN BANNED FOR MAKING A FOOL OF HIMSELF

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know he is probably doing something stupid again, but at least I don't have to witness it.

I'd much rather have idiots like that go away rather than Lynn'sABC leave because of the childish moronic behavior.

I suspect that being banned on several other lists makes these idiots come here until they get thrown off. The ultimate troll challenge.

Zman? How much longer is this going to be allowed to continue?

Sorry, I'm just too old to get that joke.

Final straw was a post that I was involved in criminal behavior about my hats. I can't afford to have "discussions" with people who make "humorous threats" like that. This is my last post.

Bye guys.
Dude, I really didn't mean anything personal or malicious...Just not my style brother...I just play hard.

I hope you reconsider. SmileWavy

Lynn, I'm with Supe on this one. I really enjoy the perspective and experience that you (insert dirty word) liberals bring to the board. I hope you won't give up on the rest of us because of some troll.

(sigh)

/mourns the loss of a good Pelican.

Mul.

We ALL appreciate that you can play hard.

Could you lighten it up just a little? Pluuuhhhheeeeassseeee?

Take a deep breath and don't go personal.

I find that I wait until noon (after the Starbucks has worn off a little) until I reply to something inflammatory.

I will be more mindful...However, I reserve the right under obvious and blatant misunderrepresentation strategery of political ideology or truth, to break out the double-barrel and take some varments out. :D...Nookular

Moneyguy1 06-24-2004 11:09 AM

I have been in bulletin boards/chat rooms for over ten years, and watched some good ones go away after someone(s) commandeer them. One of them, we tried to set up a separate place to chat, but the trolls found us. I met a lot of great folks along the way, got invited to drive a Cobra replica and things like that but the only contact we now have is an occasional e-mail or instant message. If this happens here, it will be unfortunate, but it looks more and more likely with each passing day.

There are some people who are not content until they poison every watering hole.

tabs 06-24-2004 11:46 AM

Like I said before boyz I don't need to misquote you, you make big enough fools outa yourselves just by what you say...

See MUll thats how it's done..and that is FAR MORE EFFECTIVE in the long run.

"He betrayed this country!, He played on our fears. He took America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure dangerous to our troops, an adventure preordained and planned before 9/11 ever took place." -- Al Gore

"The American people were told Saddam Hussein was building nuclear weapons. He was not. We were told he had stockpiles of other weapons of mass destruction. He did not. We were told he was involved in 9/11. He was not. We were told Iraq was attracting terrorists from Al Qaeda. It was not. We were told our soldiers would be viewed as liberators. They are not. We were told Iraq could pay for its own reconstruction. It cannot. We were told the war would make America safer. It has not.

Before the war, week after week after week after week, we were told lie after lie after lie after lie
." -- Ted Kennedy (LIAR)

I couldn't agree more Money, I couldn't agree more.

OK so what is your POV...I don't need to know what Gores is....what thoughts belong to you....what is in your head that makes you unique?

Are you empty, are you shallow, are you cynical or doyou have ideas, creativity and inspiration...

tabs 06-24-2004 02:42 PM

OK MUll, your point is clearer now that U have added a few more quotes.

One point...It is hard to seperate what politicians truly believe from their political agenda...in other words what bit of information or truth are they using to gain political advantage?

On one hand Al Gore is perceived to be politically foolish and on the other Teddy Kennedy a political pimp.

I don't seek to validate myself, I seek to inform with accurate reporting to allow people to see the abject emptiness of the Democrat platform and strategery...If you are asking what my thoughts are (as opposed to your question being rhetorical), I will reveal it in what I report...It is way too cumbersome to strike out on a discourse following each point I intend to make. Brevity is the soul of wit after all.

I completely agree with you that the Democratic party is BK morally and intellectually...they are still stuck back with New Deal ideology. Times have changed, people have moved on and recognize how BK the Democartic party is, and thats why they are outa power. They are absolutely desperate to regain their position at the trough...thats why they are leaning so far to the left this time out with Kerry. Further I believe it was a done deal among the power brokers in the Democratic Party that Dean wasn't going to be the horse they were going to bet on. Look where the power shifted to after 2002....radical left....Nancy Pellossi, Teddy Kennedy wing of the party...Kerry is BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY Teddy....(the moderate Clinton wing failed in 2000 and 2002 to get the votes).

Validation huh? OK....I'll take it....good one....Sometimes by just reporting it is hard to know if you agree or disagree with the quotee. As an aside when I have a problem I consult with my friends, I generally know what each one is going to say...yet what I want to know is the reasoning...the why of their position. What do they see that I might not. Thats INFORMATIVE. Now with regards to Brevity..yup can't say enough about the one liner to the heart....but sometimes it needs setting up.

One other thing bout me...when I write something I know there are 3 positions or responses that can be made to me...I know what my response is going to be to each of those positions before I post.
