"The Coalition of the Wild-eyed" The Faces of the John Kerry Campaign.
It is sorta funny. Watch the video. After all, F911 (just as farsical) gets the same play here.
I think Al Gore has Adolf's eyes. http://www.georgewbush.com/Default.aspx |

Funny thing is, he's using the dems' very own campaign as examples of what is wrong with their platform.
Sounds like he is the one that is campaigning on the issues. EDIT: What I meant was that it SOUNDS like HE is the one campaigning on the issues.) EDIT P.S.(He isn't either, but makes this video using the dems as 'they did it first'.) I know you won't see it that way, but that was my point with the post. The campaigns themselves (both sides) do not address the important issues. Everyone (including here in this forum) gets really wrapped around the axle with the rhetoric, and forgets what is going to happen in November. Even this thread is wrapped around the axle already. But Al's eyes do look like Adolf's. No matter what anyone says.

Worst of the lot. Haven't seen anything more pathetic in this campaign.

I think it will backfire if they dare to run it on TV since it makes a pretty good anti-bush ad.
About the only pro-bush people I could see it appealing to are the ones who think that everything is all blue sky and roses right now and that everyone who says otherwise is just trying to bring down the country. Serve me some more of that free bubble ubb and rainbow stew GWB . . |

Hey...Hitler would not tolerate any opposition either..Anyone who was against him was de facto, the enemy.
Thank all our lucky stars we CAN have silly ads like this. It is, at least for now, a relatively free country.

I'm noticing that the Bush campaign is trying in many ads to oppose the president's smiling and animated face to Kerry's dour and mask-like demeanor, and call that opposition optimisim vs. pessimism. I think this strategy was developed after they realized that the anti-patriotism attack they tried for a while backfired. Not sure if it will work, but the strategy is clear.

I don't see a problem with the ad. I do take exception with the part about this not being a time for pessimism and rage. In fact, that is exactly what times like these demand. Bush wants nothing more that to have Joe Sixpack go along with "trust me...it'll all be OK...no reason to get upset." The difference lies in the the fact that the Republicans actually believe that (like they believed a lot of other things said along the way), and the Dems don't. So the voters get to decide. Novel concept...
btw, anyone laying odds that we won't hand over Iraq in a couple days? Isn't June 30th the target date? |

Both 350HP930 and Beethoven have good points here.
350: I wondered while the vid was loading why it was not being run on TV either. Maybe they wanted to 'try it' on the site first. The mainstream media picked right up on it. Then I thought that maybe it was a troll to get people to their site. I checked, no cookies or spyware were placed on my puter after being there. I think you are right. They wouldn't (yet) dare show it on TV. Beethoven: I don't know if backfired is the right word, I think the directed response was not what they wanted. There was an interesting editorial this morning. Took the last 'great campaigns and isues' (back to Woodrow Wilson, the first real media test) and after the election asked what the real issues that mattered were to the voters. Funny thing. Every single one turned out not to be 'the economy, but rather international relations'. That included wars and 'skirmishes', which they said were 'almost wars, or territorial disputes that portended a war'. If the Bush gang should be worried about anything today, it's not the economy, I think. Just look at the tenor of the arguments in here. The most vociferous ones are over the Iraq War (or Dino vs Synthetic), not the economy. Todd: A couple of months ago, I would have bet that we would delay the handover. Since the situation has deteriorated lately, I think the handover will go as scheduled.

It's a good strategy, if you don't understand that the 'Hitler' snippets were basically submitted candidates for an unofficial PAC campaign, and that those commercials were very unpopular with the PAC members. They didn't say 'Buhs is hitler' they said he was counding like Hitler when rationalizing the attack on Iraq. Whatever.
It would be as if our boy Mul made up an ad for Bush (anti-Kerry, since even he can't find much good in Bush) and the Kerry campaign used Mul's work to make the Bush people seem to be rabid fools.

Yep 350, That was what I meant.
Tech, it's like the ad about the ad about the ad about the ad. And BTW, they did it first na na nana na. No issues other than we're up and they are down on America. And, as the MSNBC site referenced by 350 says... "It's only June".
