Very cool stuff. It pretty tough to distinguish the carrier plane from the "space ship" until later in the page.

popular science has been following them closely for the past year or so.......there is some interesting stuff in the design and their "mission", things seem to be falling right on target as far the goals they stated last year......
i'll dig up the articles but i don't have a scanner.....

That is a great site; the photos are outstanding.
I wish the launch had been covered by the media in more detail, so that the normal newspaper-reading guy could follow it. I didn't know about the sudden 90-degree turn, I didn't know that Arnold was there, and I didn't know that 10-15K people witnessed the event. Good stuff.

We flew by that morning from LA to San Jose. Looked up sun at the moment (the Los Angeles center controllers announced it), and even tho we were 30 miles away, saw the smoke trail going up fast. Was pretty impressive. They only closed a 7 mile radius around Mojave airport.
