Old story.

Some of the chemicals used were of the type Iran had and Iraq did not. Most have concluded that both sides used chemical weapons.

If it turns out Saddam did not 'gas his own people' that will be shrugged off by the people who demanded the US invasion of Iraq just like the lack of WMDs has been shrugged off.

I think the number one reason nobody is really pursuing this story is that the Bushies would have to then rename their most colorful character: "Chemical Ali."

Of course**, Bush/Cheney started out off with that Bin Laden guy. He's our enemy. We'll find him, we won't rest til we bring him to justice. Than months past and suddenly Bin Laden wasn't even important any more--now we gotta get Saddam.
