Something doesn't pass the smell test here.
1. "For almost 2 years, I have been lurking on this BBS." Yet his first post is 7-6-04 in the OT forum.

2. He then writes "I saw little of the rage I see in other venues. . . . Than a strange thing happened on the OT side. First Mull shows up. Suddenly out of nowhere, a non-Porsche owner jumps in with both feet with a right-wing agenda. Gone was the civility. Instead, I saw vicious attacks using vile descriptive language. Might as well have yelled fire in a crowded theater.

But inspite of his disgust with "rage" and lack of "civility" he responds to a post in this manner:
"Hey White Boy:"
"Who you calling a hypocrite, white bread?"

And my personal favorite: "When did you stop beating your meat?"

3. An attempt to draw attention away from him: "Here’s my Theory. There are two members of this group who have strong political feelings. Instead of posting as their good-guy Porsche self’s and risk group censure, they both create a fake persona so they can say what they really feel about others in this group who they disagree with while hiding behind an anonymous wall to avoid any personal responsibility or outcome from their attacks. I don’t know if it is technically possible for one person to be two on this BBS, but that’s what I think is going on here.

So who is "gotsoul59?"

I have a distinct style, heavily laden with quotes and references...Spankee and gotstole are cut from the same burlap.

I believe a Moderator (or Wayne if the Moderators can't) can check to see if their IPs are the same. I'm all for a check up.

Unless dynamically allocated and under a different session.

However, ISPs (like any other business) purchase IP addresses in blocks. Perhaps traceable to a degree.....

Or one could have the same address assigned over and over.

A lot of small ISPs also use NAT to keep down the number of real internet addresses so 1 IP could be used for a large group of dial in users.
so many possibilities in the networks on the internet.

But it should narrow it down to 1 ISP atleast.

fwiw from what I understand Mr. Holland (and his opus) is friends with a board regular who hipped him to the political talk here in OT. As such I don't think he's an alterego (except perhaps for himself, but that is another psychobabble thread). As for the other more recent entries, I have no idea, and haven't felt the need to rub two neurons together to try and sort out the "truth"...mostly becuase I can't handle the truth, but that is still another psychobabble thread.

Did I mention that if I told you I have to kill Tabs?

I haven't become involved with too many OT discussions lately. The one time I did speak with Mull it was about Mull and where it passes Brando's house. Don't know Yankee, but I suspect it's Tabs.

Whatever the case, the OT board began to bore me tremendously. The same old partisan arguments crop up, only now they are infused with namecalling and pontifications as to who's right and who's wrong. I'm lucky, though; discussion that involves personal attacks cause me to tune out on the subject, and soon I forget the whole thing.

I can say this: since I've been off this forum and its political "this way" or "that," I now have a clearer vision of whom I will be voting for in November.

You too? I'm about ready to bail. This ***** has just gotten DUMB.

I try to stay away from the political threads, although sometimes I can't resist. I find tit$ and a$$ far more interesting, mostly because those threads are usually accompanied with really great pics. Its time for me to take a break from this place as well.

Agreed. I haven't truly paid attention to many of the threads, but of those I have seen (unless I missed their posts), the informed stalwarts such as Island, Ed Bighi, Lendaddy, Noah and Fintstone don't seem as visible. I can honestly say that those guys never attacked personally; not even Island. As for the more left-wing demagogues, well, their arguments seem more emotional than anything, so I just lump 'em all together for better or worse.

Tabs? Who knows? I think he blew a mental valve and felt he needed to take on an internet alter-ego.

My friend at work ran IP checks today while all this posting was going on with the following results:

Tabs is broadcasting from any one of several free wireless IP's at buffets in Las Vegas. His real name is Tabs.

Mulholland/Jason B. is a real person, (unfortunately), :D , I am the one who told him about this board. I don't mind having him here really, he is very intelligent if maybe a little amped-up. Kind of like an AM radio host who's been sniffing the NOS bottle in his rice rocket.

He is a MUCH nicer person face-to-face, seriously, he would help anyone in need. He is also quite physically large, to the point of being menacing if he wanted to be. But he isn't.

In one thread, for a brief moment in time. Mul stayed on point and didn't sling negative invective -- for about 3-4 posts. Then he tossed in another cartoon misattributed to another member.

For anyone paying any attention, Mul ultimately creates a distraction when his pet theories are blown up. Usually by throwing in 3, 4 or 5 wacko conspiracy theory phrases. Sometimes with a cartoon.

It really feels like Mul is a high school kid most of the time.
