Five months in prison, five months of house arrest

i would suffer five months of prison time (minimum security) to live in her house for another five months. i bet it is posh. i read an article where she has a different bed for each season. it was sick.

Her stock just jumped up 30% after the sentencing - she owns 61% of the stock. She just earned more $ and 10 months vacation than she did in the entire scandal in the first place.

I imagine she's on a cell phone somewhere screaming "SELL SELL!"

Amazing she gets off so lightly where hungry poor folks literally stealing a loaf of bread get far harsher sentences.

I have a very low opinion of the legal system at times.

Ms. Stewart would definitely not be on my list of people I would personally like to know.

what about the slap on the wrist rush limbaugh got? that is the legal system at its finest. on the flip side, tommy chong got prison time for selling bongs on the internet. rush was caught with drugs. the legal system bites.

Which one? She has a house collecting addiction. Her own brother criticized her on this subject.

Don't forget that she didn't get convicted of selling the stock improperly. She got convicted of proclaiming her innocence.

Martha may be an evil capitalist whore in your eyes, but the implications of her conviction have nothing to do with corporate corruption or insider trading. Rather we should all be very afraid of what the justice department can and will do to win once it decides it's out to get you, whether you're guilty or not.

Under normal circumstances, if you get convicted of a felony crime and get sentenced to 5 months in jail, dont they just haul your a$$ off in a paddy wagon so you can start your service time IMMEDIATELY?

what's this talk that it may take another year for her to start serving, if she does at all?

Her appearance in jail is delayed until her appeal of the conviction itself is decided.

Get this, she can start serving the 5 months' home sentencing if she wants, and get that out of the way. The Federal Marshalls have said that it is going to take their entire stock of electronic monitors to cover the interior size of her house. There is not enough range to allow her to go outside very far, like 50 feet.

She lives in a house on 130+ acres of Conneticut.
