Any coin collectors on the board? I'm looking for info on european & south american coins from the early 1900s and european coins from the 1800s. TIA

I am a coin collector but mostly American - I have some overseas coins from the Middle East and some European countries.

Ah. I've just found a few coins while cleaning out a bunch of old "junk" from my grandparents' house... A half-penny from the Netherlands (I think) from 1816, a few US pennies from the 1840s, a quarter from 1848, bunch of stuff from england and france from the 1920s, etc. I'll get some pics taken and try to post 'em.

I'm a small time U.S. coin collector as well - no high dollar stuff, mostly what I have gleaned from change for the last 25 years or so. There were a lot more coins to be culled from circulation a couple decades ago, don't find much anymore. That 1848 quarter is worth $20-$25 - more depending on the condition. The pennies are worth at least $10-$12. That's retail, a dealer might give you 50%-60% of those values.
