There are plenty of God fearing, straight people whose ideas and beliefs are offense or I think are stupid to not have to worry if somebody is a gay or a lesbian.

As I find it offensive to have somebody else's beliefs rammed down my throat (as it were) anyone who wants to do that gets an earful (!).

So lets people get on this their private lives and worry a little more about how their public performance affects us all.

I think you're missing an important point, Mul.

The above quote from the Bible doesn't show the whole picture. You see: God hates SIN, but he loves the SINNER. He's done everything in his power (including dying for us) to show this! Talking about the wrath of God without mentioning His grace is selling God short.

If I honesly apply the Bible to my life, I need to live by that standard as well. Thus, while I do not condone homosexual behavior, I try my best to cast no judgement upon someone who is gay. Unfortunately, all too often I don't try hard enough.

I am not trying to ram my beliefs down someone's throat here, just trying to clarify what I believe the Bible teaches.

People who quote, (or misquote), Bible passages literally as "law" scare me more than any "alternative lifestyle" folks ever will. Think REAL HARD about the way that Jesus lived his life while on earth and treated humans before opening pie hole or engaging typing finger. :cool:

Interesting point. My wife and I discussed this marketing strategy and this post last night, and here's what she came up with:

A month ago, we bought my wife a new Beetle Turbo, which like the Subaru and the Miata (and the Boxster) and been 'branded' as a 'gay-friendly' car.

When I mentioned that to Kim last night, her comment was, "So what? I bought my car because I like it. It puts a smile on my face and I enjoy the car. I don't care what others have labeled it: I bought it because of what it does fore ME." Wise she is, my wife. :)

And for me, that's the bottom line. As a car enthusiast, I try to not let the 'marketing lies' influence my decsisions when I buy a car. Sure, I do research when buying a car, and there's lots of marketing junk that I need to sort through when doing such research. Does marketing influence what I buy? To a certain extent it does. But what I want the car for, and my goals for it should play a more important role in my purchase than what a given car company says the car is built for.

I find the violent reaction against all things Christian, to be interesting. People of all other faiths, including liberalism, have no problem imposing their belief systems down people's throats, but the moment you express Christian beliefs, you become an intolerant ignoramous who thinks narrowly...Tolerance is a one way street, which is in-and-of-itself intolerant.

The city of Los Angeles leftists, as strong-armed by the ACLU, are having the cross (representation of California's history) removed from the county seal...In typical hypocritical fashion, they have no problem with the goddess Pomona (pagan god) being the predominant image on the seal.

The "intolerant" and "shove it down your throat" Christians have NEVER tried to get Pomona removed from the seal.

So, who is intolerant and wants to shove beliefs down throats?

Funny, I have discussed my faith & convictions here and elsewhere many times, and have never really gotten a violent reaction.

Perhaps it is your delivery that yeilds such a reaction?

My Mom is on her second New Beetle, (a '99 and now an '04), when I was back in Minnesota last winter I drove it around w/ the flower in the vase, etc..

You are confusing the Old Testament laws and the New. Jesus Christ became the law, no longer are we subject to the laws, excepting of course the 10 Commandments.

Romans 10:1 -- "Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes."

Galatians 3:24 -- "So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."

Jesus said nothing about stoning anybody, so conflating Old Testament law with Christianity is obviously (even to you I am sure) intellectually dishonest; if indeed you are the scholar you profess.
