Yanker strikes again!
For a long, long while Subaru has been targeting lesbians. Very effectively, I might add. Next time you see a woman driving a Subaru, odds are she has a "Pete Rose" haircut and could snap you like a twig.

umm, yeah. like that whole "pitcher, catcher" thing
Well last I checked I wasn't gay. I love our Outback and may well buy a STi as my next car (daily driver). My wife is not gay either and she uses the Outback as her daily and she loves it.
so Yanker, do the subaru headrests also have big fat thigh-supports?
I'm starting to wonder if Yanker is a bit of a homophobe?
yeah, Yanker reminds me of that guy in that movie "American Beauty" . .Colonel Frank Fitts . .protests (a bit too much) that his son is "one of those damn ******s."
Yeah, incongruity; is that it?
I think you just can't get enough of Mul's attention.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/.../smileysex.gif |
I'm a lesbian but I don't drive a Subaru - what's wrong with me?
Island, where did you find that smiley -- that's outstanding!

Another hit piece on me...I am so flattered sweetums...kiss kiss

It is believed in the gay community that the Subaru Forester marketing is targeted to lesbians while the Subaru Outback is targeted to gay guys. So I was told about two years ago by a friend who is gay, lives in San Francisco, and works in advertising - he seemed like a credible source. And you do tend to see a lot of Subarus with the rainbow sticker.
I like the Forester and have sometimes thought of buying one - wish it had the WRX motor, though. As for gay bashing, I despise those who engage in it. I know lots of gay people, they work hard, pay taxes, mow their yards, raise their kids, etc just like everyone else. In urban California you tend to meet a lot of gay people in daily life and the whole idea of thinking they are somehow bad or weird or dangerous becomes rather laughable. I hadn't realized Mul was a gay basher - since he's on my Ignore list, I have no idea what he's saying nowadays - but if that is true it is really too bad. |
Look at the Forester XT. Turbo Charged 2.5 makes 250 hp.
Yet Subaru ditched Martina and Paul Hogan (that raging queen) for Lance Armstrong. Have to ask Sheryl Crow if Lance enjoys the bicycle saddle a little too much.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D |

While I suspect Mul has opinions about those who feel they are german. . I mean gay; he hasn't started any threads on the topic. . .or even any posts that I've seen. (though he does post a lot. . .may have missed something.) |

Do you really think car companies do things based on what they believe in? HECK NO! They do things TO MAKE MONEY! As some of you know, I work for a car company. (US Corp. headquarters) Right now, the 'nitche markets' are hot in the luxo car market. These nitch areas include minorities (Asian & Black) as well as the 'alternative lifestyle' folks. So our company (as well as many other car companies) are developing strategies to sell our product to these markets. It's not because car companies have all of a sudden decided to embrace an altnerative lifestyle: it's simply that is where the dollars are! Think about it: most gay couples (men and women) and DINK households - dual income, no kids. Most are also pretty affluent. Bottom line: they have $$! In the present economic state, car companies are doing their best to penetrate into markets they traditionally didn't have simply because the traditional 'wells of resources' are beginning to run dry. To claim that Mull is driving a car made by a company that is 'gay friendly' is simply absurd. BTW: I drive a Subaru Legacy, and my wife of ten years used to drive a Subaru SVX. The yanster is back! For good this time?
I become more lesbian every time I drive my WRX over unimproved roads. The suspension sure does interesting things to female anatomy.
