What Do MulHolland And The Movie FightClub Have In Common?

Remember in "FightClub" how Ed Norton and the Girl go to all these self-help meetings for addictions and deseases they don't even have?

Well......purely out of curiosity I performed a search on Mulholland's posts on Pelican to date.........

Not one, single car question or comment......none.......not one post assisting another car owner with a problem.......nothing

Mull is free to disclose any of his political views, after all it's a free country....however isn't our "Off-Topic" forum a place where we car-loving Pelican's go to chat......

It seems I feel a little bit invaded by someone who seems to have no interest in cars whatsoever......and uses our Car Lover's site to spread his gospel!

my 2 cents

Man, Dennis: that's nasty. I like it.

As for Mul, aside from arguing many on this board under the table, I think he drives a certified Porsche killer, and rumor is he's big. So I'm staying clear. After all, who wants to be b1tch-slapped three times? Physically, on the road and then on the internet.

Jeezus, why don't you give him a BJ while you're at it, David?

Personally, I've yet to see him make a coherent argument on this board that wasn't filled with emotion, slurs, references to second-hand sound-bytes from right-wing wacko radio DJ's, and just plain fabricated news with no references.

And I'd love to see him try and spank my 32 year old, 165 horsepower, glorified VW up on Mulholland, or any track in the U.S.

But I won't challenge him to an arm wrestling match any time soon!

Lynn, Your analogy would be perfect but for a couple of things: Over half of the PCA members would agree w/ his politics and immediately appoint him as their new spokesman, and you would threaten to leave but really only go to your car and get a rubber Nixon mask, (plus a Sammy D. Jr.), then come back and challenge the redneck to a fight until someone pulled off the mask. Is that about right?

I hesitate to criticise you since I've always liked you when you post under your own name, but did not appreciate the fake identities. I was tempted at times to out you but never did. One guy pisses you off so you mess w/ the entire board? For weeks? With no sign of letting up until you accidentally blew your charade?

I'm afraid that Island is right this time, 2 wrongs never make a right and "an eye for an eye" leaves the whole BBS blind, etc...

For anyone not aware at this point, I am the one who told Jason (Mulholland) about this salon/pub/OT board. I had no idea that he would like it this much, , and I regretted inviting him at first but not anymore. I think that he is funny most of the time, ie. "I'm preparing my response to you, and it's not going to be pretty"....

It's an internet BBS. Everyone needs to relax a little. (Including me). These things are great, IMO. There is a reason why people don't discuss these things (politics and religion, etc..), face to face very often, fists would be flying and it "would not be pretty"..

I remember recently when Jason nearly got into it w/ Ethan Hawk at the LA Farmers Market, some commies had a booth or something and EH was defending them against Jason who also happened to be walking by. Thank God it somehow cooled enough for EH to escape, (otherwise he would need to find a new profession w/ his head missing), , anyhoo....., this is the kind of thing that makes my friend amusing to know even if he really does need to be sent to a re-education camp sometime.

He is a completely unique personality, I could not disagree w/ his politics more but I love the guy. Really. And that goes for many of the conservatives on this board, I enjoy arguing here but when we hang out in person it stops. Not because anyone is afraid of anyone, but because it is not appropriate and unpleasant to poison a BBQ or a canyon drive w/ political arguing that usually goes nowhere in changing anyone's mind. It is just venting and honing arguing skills, it's fun and safe to do here.

I have several thousand Porsche 911 related posts, (some more contentious than anything here), , so I have no plans on leaving soon, Lynn, and I hope that the same is true for you. And I don't have a problem w/ Mulholland venting here, it's a lot better than him beating some poor clueless actor to death, believe me, the Baldwins are very grateful for us occupying him and supplying an outlet for his rage, etc...

I have yet to see evidence of intellectual honesty on the part of Mulholland.

And I, for one, am not confused between quality of argument and volume of words. The percentage of times a Mul post contains arguments that say the opposite of what he seems to think they say is surprisingly high, which makes you wonder...

Not to mention the global invective [only a fraction of which is in Lynn's post], which is the first and best sign of a losing argument.

Mul is a NASCAR driver among road racers. For those who like NASCAR tactics, that's amusing, I suppose.

But it's OK to 'poison' a relatively friendly BBS ?

My .02 worth: I've only been around here a couple of years, and rarely post in the OT forum, but I've always enjoyed the debates, and appreciated and welcomed ALL points of view (although rarely have I changed my own opinion based upon them). That is... until Mull's (and then Yankee's) appearance... I'm sorry, but a troll is a troll (regardless of how they got here), and all I've seen recently is troll behavior...WHY???

You obviously never got it.
I am not defending Mul, he even gets on my nerves sometimes. But one thing he has never done is tried to hide his identity like you did. Once you got caught you tried to claim you were trying to make a point and we "never got it." Bottom line is I think you were just trying to deceive the people on this board and when you got caught made up even more B.S. I for one won't forget your claims about combat service. Oh and what about the "friend" whose funeral you went to? Was that B.S. too?

Let's go to the track...I like the POC guys...But if you just want to go for a canyon run...My stomping ground is between the 405 and 101, on Mulholland...You don't stand a chance.

Huh? The 405 and 101 run almost perpendicular to each other near Mulholland, so which part of Mulholland are you talking about? West of the 405? And what do you drive?

My money's on Tyson. Those that can do, do and don't need to talk themselves up all the time.

From what I hear, Tyson is pretty close to a Paul Mumford-class driver.
