Mini-DV Camcorders

What have you got, how much did you spend and what do you think?

I'm looking at buying a sub $400 model - I don't feel like I need a super camera just one that takes good movies.

LEt me know what you think.

I have a Sony TRV38. Paid $700 for it about a year ago. Think they are down around $500 now. Great camera. Small and pretty light. Loaded with toys

Hey there!
I've got a Hitachi dvd video camera. They are starting to come down sub 500 dollars and they record directly to mini DVD's that hold 2.8 gig. Then you can save those, or as in my case I put a re-writeable disk in the camera and keep it there. and just upload to the computer via USB and burn the DVD or VCD from there. Really slick interface everytime you start the camera recording it makes a seperate thumnail so you can search scenes like you would on a pc with thumbnails. then you can either combine or keep them seperate....all right in the camera....awsome!! Oh yeah it also has SD memory card capability for shooting stills. You can shoot still on both the card or disk!
Okay......See ya!!!
