Why not vote for Nader because he's not Bush?

WTF kind of policy is that?

I disagree with Bush on his ongoing policies in Iraq, but see him as representing the party that is less likely to want to dig deeper into my pockets. Kerry way too liberal for me. Dems should have stuck with Dean. Bush gets my vote.

Hey, this is OT! Anything goes!

But, for your sake, to stay on topic, I voted "other" because I'll be damned if I'm going to vote for either of those meatheads.

Our 2-party system is dead.

I'm voting for Bush for a variety of reasons; he's pro-resource development and the resulting jobs, strong supporter of national defense, pro-hunting and the second amendment, supports the classic view of a family, pro business based on his support for tax cuts.

Kerry - The republicans used to represent fiscal conservatism (my favorite quality in politicians) but seem to have thrown that baby out the window.

Also - the rest of this planet is evolving to be a more socially liberal (read calmer - more peaceful) place. The US under the republicans is backsliding against that progressive grain.

Bush, for all the reasons above, but one more that may sway those on the fence.

Judges! We need judges who do not legislate from the bench and truely defend the Constitution, not use it as tool for pushing agendas. This is in my opinion the scariest movement going on in our government and needs to be stopped. Bush will put the right people where we need them.

At first i thought I was on the joke thread. I'm voting for Bush because he's got more integrety, fiscal respnsability & understaning of the war we are currently engaged in than Lurch ever will. (Inside scoop) Unless the plans are changed we will have Marines in Syria shortly.

Widebody wrote "Voting for Kerry because he's not Bush."

If that is your criteria do me a favor & write in Carmen Electra. She's not Bush either & a whole lot better to look at for 4 years than Lurch!

Joe wrote "Also - the rest of this planet is evolving to be a more socially liberal (read calmer - more peaceful) place. The US under the republicans is backsliding against that progressive grain."

LIke where, the west bank, Madrid, the Phillipines, N.Korea etc? I get it , we should be more like France!!!!

Bush is spending trillions in borrowed money and spending lives for no good reason.

Bush, but not wild about it.
Bush borrows and spends too much.
Iraq was OK in the beginning, but its time to leave.
Can't stand his stem cell position.. Those who voted against stem cell research (in its rediculously reduced form) should be denied any medical benefits that result from it, their families too.

Kerry:

I'm a veteran, I'm not GWB, that's his platform.
Keep out of my wallet, you've already taken enough. I've already pay several times my "fair share"

other- LIBERTARIAN PARTY

The republican or democratic politicians are all the same to me. they all cater to their special interests and line all their pockets on their way to retirement.

how can a lower income person or a minority relate to either partys canidates. in this corner the white millionare oil baron bozos from texas and in this corner the white millionare high brow lawyers from beantown. sure these guys can relate to my life. in the end it doesnt really matter what party is in office the system is so corrupt, we should nuke it and start over.

Kerry. It takes tremendous courage and audacity to run the kind of campaign he's run. I applaud a man who can look the American people straight in the eye and talk for hours without betraying an inkling of what he truly believes.

Re: Wayne's World: Today, a Political Poll!

As for my opinion, I'm undecided right now. Being a small business owner, I'm generally more conservative in my financial views of the world. I prefer smaller government, and fewer programs that give "handouts" and encourage destructive behavior. Kerry has a very liberal voting record, and I fear that his governance will be a bit too left leaning for me to swallow. I've really had enough of the super liberal Democrats here in California, who in general, give more moderate Democrats a bad name. Choosing a personal-injury lawyer as a VP running-mate was also a bad choice, in my mind. Business owners / Engineers and lawyers are sworn enemies.

On the other hand, I didn't vote for Bush the first time around, and I was disappointed when he won. However, after 9/11, I thought he handled the immediate aftermath quite well. I supported the invasion of Afghanistan, and I still think it was a good idea. I also supported the Iraq invasion, based on the fact that "those guys were privy to information that I didn't know about." Needless to say, it would appear that the Iraq invasion was probably a mistake in hindsight - something that Bush will have to pay for, at least politically. I like Rice, Ashcroft is okay, Powell is good (despite having egg on his face right now), but I think that I (and the rest of the country) are not fond of Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

I think I may have lost my faith in the Bush administration, however, I'm not sure if that's enough to vote for what appears to be a super-liberal. Based on his past voting record, I doubt that Kerry will be similar to Clinton - who was seemingly a more moderate Democrat. It's not like my vote will count too much anyways, here in CA, but it's nice to debate the topic anyway.

What's your thought?

-Wayne

Bush...
I'm doing better than four years ago. I know what I'm in for with him and he has the courage to stay the course during a relatively unpopular war.
If this were 2 weeks after 9/11 he'd be in for sure. I did NOT forget.
