Found another DVD gem - Flight of the Phoenix
Highly recommend it - I had forgotten all about it till I stumbled across the DVD. Great acting by Jimmy Stewart and Richard Attenborough. Very well written.
Man, I love this media. Now all we need is to have those "bonus features" added to these old movies. Like is this based on an actual story (Iheard somewhere that it was) - what the hell kinda plane was/were they and is what they did actually possible?

Flight of the Phoenix is one of my all time favorite movies. I remember it was playing once with the original Batman movie (Burgess Meredith, Caesar Romero, Adam West, Burt Ward) and my brother and I sat through three showings of Flight of the Phoenix and two showings of Batman at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland.
Basically 12 hours of watching two movies. Back in the day they just ran the movies over and over. I think that was where the phrase "this is where I came in" originated. Ernest Borgnine and Jimmy Stewart stole the show in that movie.

That plane took the life of one of the greatest stunt pilots Paul Mantz.
