call the pros. please.

And don't put your cat up there unless you don't care if it comes back.

Maybe you should take the Kerry approach and be more sensitive in your war against these rats.....

I know what you mean....If my Big Boy George at 118 lb's sits down and doesn't want to move I can't move him....

Also with the poison if your pet should get the poisoned rat it's good bye pet...my friends had a cat that got a poisoned rat, the cat died a horrible death..it bled out...

118 lbs! George is a whale! Henry's a bit "Fluffy" and he's 105.

It will be an interesting 24hrs with my boys. They have never experienced a hurricane, nor I for that matter. Charley's knocking on the door! Hope my garage door holds. The baby sleeps there.

Lightening storms send my female up the wall ...or rather into my lap...a 63 lb lap dog....Now George while he gives a woof or two at the begining of the storm just goes and lays down with his paws over his ears as if to say cna't that Bit[h keep her mouth shut....meaning Misty of course...

You'd think Airdales would wana get at a cat to have it's way with the cat...but my female grew up with a cat, and just wants to play with them in a nice way...most cats don't appreciate her friendliness....George was never really around cats to even know what one is....his attitude is to stare at them and if close enough to smell them....cats seem to get unnerved when they are outstared...especially by what to them are stupid dogs....

I read about a mouse trap once in a hunting mag, it should work with rats. Take a 5 gallon bucket and attach a wooden dowl across the top of it. Take an aluminum can and make a hole in each end and sleave it over the dowl. Now take some peanut butter and smear it on one side of the can. Leave a small board as a "gang plank" to make it easy for the bastards to get to the peanut butter. The theory is the mice (rats) get up on the can and eat the peanut butter and it rotates under their weight and they fall into the bucket. Oh yeah put some water in there and DROWN the bastards at the same time.

A serious answer:

1. Call in the pros and get rid of the current rodents.

2. Call in a siding contractor and have the soffits covered with aluminum and sealed.

Years ago, I had a squirrel problem (squirrels are just rats with bushy tails). This process was the ONLY thing that worked.

Oh, and if you can stand it, a radio placed in the space tuned to a classical station that has screeching sopranos discourages them as well. If no opera, then tune it to an all talk station. Human voices make them nervous.

I didn't say that..........

Then again, you would get advantages of both the soprano and talk...
