Assembling a Costco shed

I bought a Costco shed acouple of weeks ago and began assembly last weekend. The salesman said it'll take 5 hours for two people to assemble but may go faster if I buy the optional foundation. The shed on display was a very sturdy 10 X 10, galvanized steel frame and foundation with vinyl panels. So of course I bought the thing, confident that I can assemble it in 3 hours with help from wife and son since I've put up a couple of galvanized steel sheds in the past.

It's been two friggin' weekends and I still have the roof to put on. If I run into that sales rep, I'm gonna kick his a$$! This thing's got a million-and-a-half screws and the bare frame is so flimsy that if there's ANY wind at all, you run the risk of bending crucial pieces. The display at Costco is deceiving in that screws are hidden behind facia. I think next time, I'm opting for an all-plastic shed. Anyone know who sells one that's 10 X 10? I'm going to need another for my side yard.

Costco would most likely like your feedback. They dont want misrpresented products in their stores. I'd bet you'd get your money back or the shed manufacturer will send someone out to assemble/install.

Good point Rick. I thought about returning the thing since disassembling it would be way more fun but I'm at the home stretch now so I decided to press on. I will complain to Costco though about it. Thanks.

I got one from Home Depot about 5-6 years ago about 10 x 10. It has vinyl walls with a steel base. We bought the additional base but the shed came with no floor so we had to build a floor and then put the tracks down to build up the walls. Took about 1 day for the walls and another 2 days for the roof. But once it was together, it has been pretty durable.

Finished it last night around 9. It took three full days to assemble but it's pretty sturdy.

Are you sure you didn't get the casket by mistake? That might explain why nothing lined up right.

I just read about that somewhere - caskets by Kirkland. I heard they only come in quantities of 4 and are all XL.

My buddy and I bought two Rubbermaid sheds at Sam's Club last summer and had both of them built in two hours. We used a can of cooking oil spray to lube the plastic panels and a rubber mallet and it made the process very easy. I recommend the Rubbermaid shed as it's waterproof, has a raised floor, lockable doors and built-in mounts for customer-provided wooden shelves. It's been on my driveway for a year now and it's durable and looks nice...

did the roofs shearness stiffen it up any? it took you longer to build that she than it took me to rebuild my suspension chris.......

you should have let your wife do it solo, she would have gotten it in a couple hours. that whole left brain thing.....
