Why Porsche owners are lousy guys to marry.

Saw the following excerpt from an article regarding when a Guy is ready for marriage.

http://women.msn.com/810303.armx?GT1=4529

He's Not Marriage Material If He:

Buys a Porsche.

Or other high-end items that no man saving up for a ring or a future would purchase. Carol Morgan says, "If he acts financially immature and irresponsible, he's thinking 'me,' not 'we.'"

I know my girlfriend (now my wife) was upset with me when I stop at a dealer to look at a Porsche Targa and brought the Targa while she sat in the car waiting for me.

How is it finacially immature and irresponsible to buy a Porsche?
Mine is holding it's value above $20K, I have yet to loose a dollar on my investment.

Now take that same $20K(or so) and put it in to a brand new .........(incert car model here) i.e. Honda Civic, and within 6 months after owning it, it would be worth probably 60-75% of the original price, then within 2 years it woud be worth wel below 50%. The Porsche would still be worth $20K and maybe even a bit more if it's a low production model.

Buying a BRAND new car from the dealer, now that's finacially immature and irresponsible.

I'd say a car is much more practical than a ring (of any kind). Talk about swallowing shallow marketing garbage hook line and sinker.

Let's see, what pricing formula does Debeers recommend for a diamond engagement ring? Seven paychecks or some stupidity along those lines.....

How about a counter article..."Why girls who don't like Porsches are lousy to marry".

see, chicks are evil... this article itself is proof
they accuse us of beeing selfish by buying a car that indicates "me-thinking" but the arcticle itself just says "how to be a golddigger and catch me a male slave that fits my purpose"

they're never gonna get me... no way

in motion

Where is motion's pitty poor me thread when you need it. It was a brutal but funny account of women and their ways. Perhaps Motion will share it again? For now, keep this in mind.

I have a new desktop, Thanks. That article really p%^&% me off.
I've always thought rings were stupid beyond the symbol of commitment. Wearing 2-10 grand on your finger, then losing it or having the rock pop out. Ever lose you Porsche down the drain?

Caution, mini-rant zone -------------------------

I had a women that kept her jewerly right next to the sink and we had 2 cats. I became a plumber for the first time and found the earrings, but not the second and third time stuff came up missing. EVIL

Don't blame women for wanting rings. DeBeers started it.

Truth in diamond advertising.

Possibly not safe for work, profanity.

I can independently verify that women are evil. Disagree if you must, but you do so at your own peril.

On a side note, I'm not sure that a man spending his money on what he wants is a sign of anything. But a female is likely to draw conclusions about how this could affect the flow of gifts she can expect from him. Again, I'm not sure any of that is relevant, except as a clear warning signal.

And finally, my '83 SC purchase five years ago is HEAD AND SHOULDERS ahead of most peoples' car purchases in terms of resale value, reliability, etc.

I'm not going to be playing games with women any more. At least, not THEIR games.

The people who write those articales are driving Toyota tercels.

This is not meant to burn anyone of us who uses the same as a winter car.

This is why you get married first, and then buy your Porsche.

Thinking that diamonds are rare and valuable is foolish . Debeers can take credit for one of the best marketing/quasi-legal schemes known to man.

Shame on us, all of us. Buying a Porsche demonstrates our selfish "me" thinking, when we all know we should be exibiting unselfish "her" thinking.
I am ashamed to admit that I do not spend every waking minute thinking about her, I don't spend every single minute of my life doing things for her, and I don't spend every single cent I make on her.

For that I will surely burn in hell (and don't call me Shirley)

I'd be a rich, happy man right now if my daddy had cut my nuts off when I was born

Have no problems telling ANY chick to KMA when I'm being read into like that. Around here lots of 'em think that every man's secret goal in life is to find THEM... And if you declare that's not it (or even sometimes if you simply act like that) you get treated like your crazy. Must have something to do with the womanly self - esteem thing, be they fat, ugly, smelly, whatever - they're "perfect" remember? Question that and feel the wrath.

Don't answer any calls, emails and when you say "bye", mean it... Keys to happiness.

It's an awful life to be kept like that... Never again.

admittely, i own a diamond ring. i put it all together when i met and dated my current girlfriend. i dropped some serious coin, and the thing just sits locked away. i just cant pull the trigger. believe me, the thought of unloading that think has crossed my mind.

debeers is a dick. he suggests a ring to cost the man 2 months salary.
my girl loves my 911. if only i could get her to quit calling it "the cute car". i think the article is referring to a new car. spending money on rebuilding one, shows that we can commit to something is shows our nurturing side. awwwwww. kinda like a houseplant.

Sad thing is that many (not all) females swallow this crap like every other fad that the markerters and the media flash in front of them.

It amazes me that when the media decides that a type of clothing is now in style all the brainwashed catlle go running to buy it and be "unique" or to better "express themselves".

Wow

If they think a guy who buy a Porsche is thinking of me instead of we, what do they think of a guy that buys a Ferrari?
