VW R 32 Golf

I was talking with a co-worker and he mentioned something about a 240 horsepower all wheel drive VW Golf. My first thought: Perfect daily driver.

Does anyone have any additional information on the release of this car?

Thanks

I've always thought the GTI/Golf was a nice looking little hatch, but geez, I sure don't need modern VW reliability issues.

They really AWD? Man...that'd be cool.

I know I saw 4Motion golfs in France last year...

A friend has one. Great performance. He loves it. Awesome looking too. He got rid of a WRX to buy it and hasn't looked back.

I drove a fellow Pelican's (69911s) r32 the other day. He chose it over the WRX. He made a good decision! Fun car.

My friend has one, he was going to choose from the rx-8, mitsu evo and the subaru, he ended buying the R32.......

I drove test it and heres my opinion.

Very clean design all the way around, is put together much better than some brand new vetts that I have tested.

Indeed AWD, dual exhaust, MASSIVE brakes she stops excellent, good a/c and all is properly fit in the cabin.

6 speed with a nice power band,
where they made a mistake that car should have come Turbo .

Overhaul very nice.

The R32 is a wonderful little car - when we bought my wife her New Beetle Turbo, there was one in the showroom.

Hmmmm - maybe it's time to upgrade my AWD Subaru Legacy Daily driver to an AWD R32.

Philip,

Go check it out. Hell I'll go with you, I have been meaning to try one out myself. I bought the VW Jetta GLI for the daily which came out right before the R32. It is a 200hp 6 speed. They added a lot to the body of the GLI for the 2004 model but I still have the Recaros in front just not all the fancy logos on the shifter and the seats.

Good cars, a little bit numb and very heavy, but a good car nonetheless.

This is the same thing my dad said when I asked him if he wanted to tag along with me this weekend. I'll report back after we check 'em out.

I have way too many acquaintences/colleagues who've had problems with the 2000-and-later crop of Jetta-platform vehicles...

Hope your luck is better!

Nice...I was going to post the same thing, HPA has turned a Golf into a car tha will sit with an Enzo!!!!! TUV tested at over 200 MPH, its simply amazing for the money, imagine the look on a guys face in a Lambo or Ferrari after they get smoked by a Golf?

Still a smoking deal for the level of performance you are getting, what in total a R32 TT would cost around $60 to $70 k and be able to run with Enzos, Carrera GT's, F1's, etc. I want one

It's still gonna have a golf chassis and suspension.. it would be a fun car.. but an Enzo, McClaren, or CGT competitor?.. not gonna happen.
