Yeah, and she'd be doing this if her husband wasn't running....

She's really in touch with the common folk. She strikes me as a three martinis before dinner type of gal, followed by three more, followed by slurred raving and ranting at her beloved husband . . .

I saw this too. I think it's another straw on the camel's back that is Kerry's sinking campaign. Sad really. I could have seen myself voting against Bush.

Burning Oil - is that Bob Ross in your avatar?

Looking at Theresa, I see the pathetic remains of a person who's given her life for shallow things. She has sought after wealth and pleasure, in all the terms that this world will define, and has found it. She's married to an arguably successful politician, she has money coming out her ears, she's very likely a "party girl" still, which is impressive for her age. But somehow, she doesn't look happy -- rather, she looks sad, broken, ruined.

The really pathetic part is that all of us are the same way, we just haven't made it yet. We strive in the rat race, we labor long hard hours forsaking family and friends just so we can get a little more "fun," so we can be that much father "ahead," whatever that means. We wholeheartedly bite into the bait that says that having good parties is the epitome of having fun, and that owning a Porsche will fulfill some deep inner need. But we fail to look ahead of us to see where that path leads.

(sigh) What has been will be again; there is nothing new under the sun.

"Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids," said Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites). "Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes."
As idiotic as she makes it sound, she does have a valid point.

Clothes aren't that big of a deal if you don't have food/water. This is the tropics we are talking about here, it's not like there is any threat of freezing to death.

Jeez! What's her point? If she's such a humanitarian, she better fly down to Gulf Shores, Alabama to help the folks there.

I wonder if she would be in favor of the kids on, say, Nantucket going naked if a storm hit there???? Doubtful. Very doubtful. She looks at the 'natives' in the Carribean as a lower class of people than here in the United States ......

You are right, but we also wouldn't have to send clothes in by boat or plane to get clothes to them, you can drive them in from Wal-mart from the next town inland. If you can fit a limited amount of cargo per shipment, it is stupid to send clothing if there isn't enough water.

I lived in Jamaica when I was a kid. We would go to the beach, and my brother and I were pretty much the only kids wearing swim trunks. Naked kids are not a big deal there.

Not everyone in the world is as hung up on nudity as we are.
